Biore Self-Heating One Minute Mask Review

It's beauty review time once more!
If you've read AYBB for a while you probably know how partial I am to a pampering session - I love a bit of 'me' time.
The number one thing on my pampering list is always a face mask and when I spotted these in the clearance section of Boots last week for only £1 I just had to have them! (Usually priced at £7.99 I got a right Barry bargain here!)

Self-heating masks are probably my favourite kind of masks - I near enough always use the Montagne Jeunesse/7th Heaven sachets so I was looking forward to trying something at a slightly higher price point.

You get 4 sachets in the pack - a good months worth for me as I only tend to do a mask once a week!
What's special about about this mask you ask?
Well.... the clue is in the name - it only takes a minute! (*girl... to fall in love, fall in love.* - sorry Take That moment!)

Anywho - yes!
This is a one minute mask - all you need to do is dampen your clean skin (I usually do this just as I've take my make-up off so my face is still wet) and pop the mask on with your fingers, your skin must be wet as the mask is activated by water!
The warmth along with the natural charcoal ingredient help to open up your pores and draw out deep down dirt, oils and impurities leaving the skin feeling soft and refreshed.

As you massage the sachet over your face the warming is activated and you can feel your skin getting a deep, healthy cleanse.
After just a minute all you have to do is wash the mask off with warm water - the mask does not dry.
This was so super easy and I found that the mask, unlike others I've used, comes off so quickly and effortlessly leaving my skin feeling completely rejuvenated.

The size is actually perfect, most of the time when I use a sachet mask I only use half or 3/4 of the mask and because they tend to be a bit messy I always chuck the rest away. These sachets are slightly smaller than normal but the actual perfect size for a one-use mask.
The consistency of the mask is fairly thick until you mix it with the water on your face/fingers which makes it thinner and easily to massage across your face.

Scent wise.... I have a bit of blocked nose at the moment haha so didn't really smell anything to be honest!

I'm really chuffed by the how well this worked and how handy they are - for the price I got them I'm blown away.
Perfect for a quick fix me up, you really do only need a minute.
My skin hasn't felt this cleansed for weeks - I'll definitely be using the rest of the packet on the lead up to Christmas this year to insure flawless skin.

Montagne Jeunesse Mud Pac Review

Oh god I know, another one of these damn reviews! But hey, just sharing my opinions y'all! You all know by now that I'm a big MJ fan, I probably do one weekly - at least and this past week was no different.

My skin this week was treated to the Mud Pac from Montagne Jeunesse. This I'd say is one of the most well known sachets from them, I'm sure it's been out for years and years!
This again like a few others I've used recently was bought when on offer so it only cost me about 67p - total barry bargain!

This mask is an anti-stress mask and is made for normal/oily skin - which is fab for me as my T-zone recently has decided to become a toal grease pit, totally uncool.
The Mud Pac is a deep pore cleanser, it draws out the dirt and any impurities in the skin and helps to open up those pesky blocked pores we all hate.
Not only is it made with sea kelp nutrients but the mask is also filled with anti stress oils to help you relax and unwind.

After removing my make-up and washing my face with some warm water I ripped open the sachet to reveal the blue cream and spread it evenly over my face.
I love funky coloured masks, this one made me look like a smurf!
What I did notice with this one is that it is a little thinner than others I've tried, it feels more like a lotion than a thick mask.

The scent was refreshing and the feel was slighty minty - very refreshing and I can see why they call it an anti stress mask!
I left it on for probably 15 minutes or so after it had set I washed it off with some warm water.

As soon as I washed it off my face looked refreshed and and felt really soft! But after a couple of minutes I noticed it looks slightly red and blotchy, luckily this was just before bedtime so I didn't have to face anyone or put on any make-up over the top!
Obviously this was a little harsh but still when I woke up in the morning there wasn't a strange looking mark on me at all so all was well in the world again!

This, for me, isn't one I'd do on a regular basis as it was a little harsh but is did work really well and clearing my pore's and giving me that deep cleanse!

Aswell as the sachets MJ also do the mud pac in a bottle - less than £5 for lots of pamper night's in!!

Montagne Jeunesse NEW Witch Hazel Wonder Mask Review

So you know how much I love these sachets right? So can you imagine how excited I was when the lovely people at MJ (that's Montagne Jeunesse obviously) conacted me and asked if I wanted to try out one of their new masks!
Ummmm YES please is what I said in a flash and I was sent this Witch Hazel Wonder to try out.

Witch Hazel is in ingredident I have had alot of experience with. I remember my Mum going on and on about it when I was younger for lots of different things, so this wasn't my first meeting.

With Aloe Vera I knew this wasn't going to be harsh on my skin but soothing! Whilst preping for Bestival earlier on in the week I decided  I had a spare few minutes to try this sachet out and give my skin a little love!

After using Liz Earle's Cleanse and polish to remove my make-up and cleanse my face I popped an even layer of this mask and let it set for 15/20 minutes.
This mask set alot quicker than others I have tried and I really liked it - I love the feeling of it haha!
After 15 minutes I removed the mask with warm water and a flannel. It was a little hard to get off at tifrst ut once dampened it wiped off fine.
My skin was left feeling hydrated and soft and the redness of a few blemishes seemed to have been reduced too!

Another fab mask from MJ ... if you have sensitive skin this mask would be great for you, alot less harsh than others from them and a fantastic cleanser!

Botanics Ultra Calm Gentle Cleansing Cream Review

When things are on offer AND I have vouchers for them aswell it is really really hard for me to say no.
This happened to me recently with the lovely skincare brand Botanics - which is a Boots skincare brand.
In my opinion this is one of the most underrated skincare ranges out there, every product I've tried from them I've been super impressed with and the prices are really reasonable.

So with there being up to 1/2 price of Botanics products at the moment and me having lots of different advantage card offers/vouchers (including even more money off and a free packet of face wipes) I couldn't quite resist picking up a few new products!
The first of these I'm going to talk about is the Gentle Cleansing Cream from the Ultra Calm range.
For months now I have been just taking off my make-up with a hot cloth cleanser, whacking on a toner and sometimes my Nivea soft cream over the top. I thought it was about time I added in a cleanser too!
I have been using this once I've removed my make-up to give my skin an extra cleanse (duh!)
I chose this one for sensitive skin as I've noticed recently alot of thick "anti-ageing" or highly fragranced creams have given me a couple of spots that I do not want on my face so I went for the safe option of the Ultra Calm range.

I was weirdly drawn to the fact that this is made with 'calming marshmallow' - this sounds nice and soothing. (and slightly yummy)
The scent is lovely, simple and fresh and reminds me slightly of suncream, which is a good thing!
I rub gently this onto my dry skin and then remove it with a cotton pad to give my skin a proper deep cleanse after removing my make-up.
I wouldn't use this to remove my make-up alone as I don't think it would do the job properly for me - I'm so used to using hot cloth cleansers that other products never seem to work as well!

My skin has felt refreshed, clean and comforted and I'm really glad I picked this up, another great product from Botanics and I'm looking forward to try out the rest of the ones I picked up!
