September Favourites 2014

I think this is probably the latest I've ever put up a monthly favourites - I can't believe it's October 12th already!
But I couldn't just forget my favourites for September, no sir! I had a few products which really stuck out throughout the month and couldn't not mention them!
A few beauty products first! Starting with Vera Wang Princess.
A perfume I have wanted for years and years finally made it's way into my collection when I was on my way to Florida! I knew that I wanted to buy a new perfume for my holiday so the scent could always remind me of the trip - sad I now but it does really work - and when I saw this on offer in Gatwick I knew I had to have it!
This 50ml bottle was less than £30 and I am so glad I bought it, I smelt fab for my whole holiday and it wasn't until I got to Disneyworld that I realised how perfect the name of the perfume was!
Next is the Make-Up Forever HD Foundation. You may have seen me talk about this in my Florida Haul video on Youtube but I had to put it in my favourites for last month too as it is sooo good!
I knew I was going to pick this up when I went to the US as it had been on my wishlist for so long and it was the first thing I picked up when I skipped into Sephora! The colour I picked is slightly darker than my skin at the moment but I've been mixing it with my L'oreal true match foundation to bring it down a shade! It is so so good I am obsessed, gives me skin a gorgeous finish plus doesn't feel super thick and heavy like my Mac Studio Sculpt.
On holiday I become addicted to this next product. I have already done a review for this No7 highlighter - here - if you want to read more about it, but last month I wore it constantly! It was perfect was my more relaxed minimal make-up look for the daytimes in Florida, it gave me a gorgeous glow and a tint of bronze too!
Lastly on the beauty front I've added in Bath & Body Works' Anti-Bac Hand Gels. These are my favourite favourite favourite things to have in my handbag! I was so glad to be able to stock back up on these - only $5 for 5 is something I just can't say no too! I'm hoping all the ones I got last me a while!
Last time I went to Disneyworld I spotted this iPhone case but decided to be sensible and save my money (not cheap at about $40) - although I regretted it as soon as I left Orlando! So when I saw it again this time I talked myself into getting the beauty! I have my 5S for another 18months so knew I'd get alot of use out of it! I love it so much, it looks awesome and feels and fits so much better than all those cases I had from eBay!
This Watchalicious watch from Folli Follie* has been on my wrist permanently since recieving it. It is the perfect size and shape for me and after having a few links taken out I am so so pleased with how it fits and looks, I actually think I'd be lost without this now!
Last but not least I've got some snazzy footwear which I lived in throughout September! You may have seen my talk about these on twitter - they are the flopZ Siam Flip-Flops with pink straps* and they saved my feet on holiday!
These flip flops have an amazing massaging gel sole which makes walking feel like a dream - I don't know about you but walking round in flip-flops for me can become really uncomfortable so these are a genius invention!
I know it's Autumn now so the time for flip-flops and sandals wearing is diminishing fast but I think I'm even going to start wearing this round the house!
flopZ I must high five you on such an amazing creation!

What have been your favourite products recently?

12 Of My Festival Essentials

Living on the Isle Of Wight (Yup, that's where I've been hiding!) I like to think of myself a fairly experienced festival-goer!
Having the Isle Of Wight Festival & Bestival on my doorstep every year means I've been  too about 13 Festivals since I was 15  and with those had the most amazing times with amazing people and of course seen the most amazing bands/artists!

Over the last 9 years I'd like to think that I've learnt alot about Festival-going and know exactly what I need to pack along with my tent and alcohol, I'm a huge girly girl and definitely need to feel clean and fabulous still.... even if I'm surrounded by sweaty drunk fools, stinky porta-loos and muddy puddles!

So I've put together a few small essentials that will help get you festival ready in no time, some may be obvious & some you may have never even thought of!
Obviously I'm very lucky and even if  camp I can always head home for a lovely warm shower and a change of clothes.... one day I WILL do a Festival properly though!

Travalo : Now if you haven't heard of these yet you have been seriously missing out! The perfect (and only) way to take your favourite perfume along with you while taking up no space in your bags!
Just pop the top off your choosen perfume to reveal the white stick and pump this bottle on top - your perfume is transferred into the mini bottle, perfect for travelling, perfect for Festivals! I have 2 and they are a god-send!

Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel & Holder : This has got to be number 1 on the 'Things to take to a festival list'.  You will need to use anti-bac... alot - those portaloos are GROSS, believe me I have seen some sights in my time! These hand gels have amazing clip on holders too so just clip it onto your bag/shorts/anything and you wont have to route around your bag with dirty hands to find it!

Mini Mouthwash : Brushing your teeth... with a toothbrush, toothpaste, water ... is a bit of a mission if your sat at your tent in the middle of the day, in the middle of a field! Mouthwash's are great to take with you and leave in your tent for when you want to freshen up! Just spit into sn old cup and pop it in the bin when you're done! Fresh breath and no hassle! Chewing Gum will just annoy you when you're drinking or eating all afternoon/evening!

Bumbag : A bag with no straps, nothing to carry, nothing to leave behind and forget, all your belongings with you zipped in at all times .... bumbags are the perfect Festival bag to keep your prized possessions safe and sound! Also great for when you need the loo!

Wellies : I don't care what anyone say - even it is was boiling hot... I'd always wear wellies... do you know how disgusting some of those loo's are? You o NOT want to be walking around those areas with sandals or trainers... think of the germs! Eww!
Also.... an amazing work out - wellies are heavy, like wearing ankle weights, and the amount of walking you do at festival is bound to help you tone those pins up!
Pocket Tissues : Because no-one likes being stuck in a loo without any loo roll... and that will happen alot!
Top Tip:  Hide them before you go into the toilet or you will have everyone and their grandma asking for one... and it's not that you are selfish but you don't want to be left empty handed later on in the day because you've been Mrs. Generous in the loo queue!

iPhone Charging Case :  Well this is a genius idea! Yes there are places that will charge your phone for you for a few hours BUT if you're in the middle of a crowd, waiting for a band or popping to the bar/loo on your own the worst thing is your phone battery deciding to die! So... whack this case on, easy peasy! Not only will it protect your phone but you can choose when to give your phone a bit of extra charge - perfect!

Sunglasses : Obviously you need sunglasses to protect your eyes from the sun, but they are also amazing to hide half of your face!
Lack of sleep, too much to drink, couldn't be bothered to put make-up on, or you did put make-up on but that 7 hours ago and you aren't looking too fresh - sunglasses are the answer! There are so many to choose you so you can look like a fashionista at the same time!

Hair Scrunchies : Weather it is too hot and you are sweating a bucket in the crowd or it's chucking it down with rain and the windswept looking really isn't your thing there will be a point where your hair will need to go up. Like on top of your head up.
So what better than a scrunchie - hair's up and you look cool at the same time, perfect! Just wear round your wrist in the day so it's always at the ready!

A Good Lip Product : Like I said before you will probably be wearing sunglasses  which means the only key make-up feature that people will see will be those lovely lips!
Lipstick is obviously amazing and my personal fav but isn't always great if it's hot, as it melts and if you are drinking alot it can smudge!
So you could always take good tinted lipbalm or lipgloss along too!
Tip : If it is hot and sunny, do NOT use vaseline - that will burn your lips!

Coin Purse : NEVER take all your cards to a Festival - just have one bank card (if you can) for emergencies, your ID (If you're over 18) and cash.
You only need a little coin purse for these things - perfect for your small bag/bumbag, making more room for all your other essentials/valuables that you want to carry around with you!

Compact Mirror : It's not like you can go and check yourself out in those public loos because... just no - they have no mirrors and if they do you don't want to hang around in them to reapply your lippy! A little mirror in your bag is vital for us girly-girls!

Thank you Mr. Postman

So the postman banged on the door at around 8am this morning.... it is a Saturday - this is early for my house at the weekend! BUT thank god someone bothered to answer it because.... it was all stuff for me (oops!) and super exciting stuff aswell! So I thought I would do a quick small haul for you before I head off out into the sunshine for the day!
All the nail polishes above are from Fragrance Direct and were total bargains (would you expect anything less from me?) The essie polishes were all ONLY £1.99 each , yes I am not lying only £1.99! Essie polishes normally retail at around £7.99 so these were total bargains, I'm guessing they are discontinued colours or products they had over ordered but these doesn't make the colour or quality any different. The other polish I got was an OPI colour and I'd seen this a while ago and feel in love but I am well too poor/stingy to pay £8/9 for one nail polish at the moment so when I saw this for £3.99 - I was sold!

1. OPI Nail PolishNothin' Mousie Bout It
Like I said before I'd seen this a while ago and feel in love. Firstly, it is Disney related! Yes it is from the Minnie Mouse collection which, even if I didn't know any of the colours I would buy because of the name alone! This polish is so unique and that's what I love about it! Not only is it a pretty shimmery pink colour BUT it also has little hearts in the polish! Just like the confetti polishes that seem to have come in recently this polish paints little hearts onto your nails too. So cute. IT does need a few coats as the product is quite sheer but this is fab for using as a top coat over another colour. (sorry the photo for this hasn't come out that well, maybe google it for a better picture! :( )

2. ESSIE Nail Polish - Neo Whimiscal
First one of my total bargains is this gorgeous nude colour. I have a couple of nude/really pale pink colours already in my nail polish collection but they are always so so thin and need about 5 coats so I hardly ever bother wearing them. I hoped that being an essie polish (I love their quality) that it would work alot better and be alot thicker... and I was not wrong! This is fab and only needed a coat or two to get a really nice opaque nude which I have been looking for for so long.

3. ESSIE Nail Polish - Cascade Cool
Did Kirstie need another bubblegum pink type nail polish? ...... of course she did! On Fragrance Direct the colour swatch they put with the nails of the polishes are just not very convincing or helpful so what I like to do (ADVICE ALERT) is google the name of the product and go straight to images. 9 times out of 10 people are going to have already have bought the product and put up some fab photos of it on their nails.... the perfect way to see what the colour ACTUALLY looks like! I do this with everthing I buy on FD and it is so so helpful! Anyway this is a gorgeous girly pink which I know is going to become a staple pink that I always reach for.

4. ESSIE Nail Polish - Bikini So Teeny
Perfect for summer this is a cool pastel blue. I'm definitely going to wear this to the festivals I am going too this summer, I think I even prefer it to my Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream (and that says alot!) I also think this and Cascade Cool would work really really well together!

5. ESSIE Nail Polish - Mojito Madness
Don't you just love the names of all these polishes? That must be the best job - 'nail polish namer.' I may look into how to apply for this...... anyway back to Mojito Madness! I'd like to describe this as a dark pastel green (is that allowed?) Even though it is quite a bold colour for nails it is quite subtle and I can't wait to find some clothes to match this colour as I think it would look so cool together.

6. ESSIE Nail Polish - Action
Last but not least for nail polishes is Action! This is a super bright orange and this is a colour I have been looking for for a while. The number one reason I wanted a polish this colour - it will look amazing with a tan, and that is why I bought it. I think super bright fluorescent colours look so amazing in the summer especially with all the neon/90s clothing that is coming back in and this colour will look great on both fingers and toes! The only downside is that this polish just seemed like its not been shaken enough even though I've done it loads, but for £1.99 I can't complain!

Sleek Face Contour Kit -Light
I have wanted this for so long as I have seen so many people raving about it but no shops near me stock Sleek! So I finally caved and ordered it from Superdrug online (free delivery was what sold me) and I am so so glad I did! I was already in love with the product without even seeing it and now that it's here I love it even more! I can already tell this is going to be perfect for my skin, I got the light as I thought 1. I don't have a tan yet and 2. it is easier to build a darker colour if needed that make something lighter!
The bronzer is matte which is great, I think it's really hard to find a plain matte bronzer most of them seem to have some form of shimmer even if only tiny. The highlighter is also amazing, I am a sucker for any form of highlighter to be honest, I love the look they give and ever since the first time I randomly bought High Beam from Benefit when I was a teenger I have been hooked on highlighters! It is a super pretty shimmer and I cannot wait to use it later! (Sorry that in the photo you can see the lovely finger mark from myself.... I jsut couldn't wait!)

Yellow iPhone Case
This is, of course, from eBay (the only place I buy my cases from)! If you're anything like me then you get bored of having the same case on after a while and need a change (there are other people like me right?) So I love going on eBay and searching for a new case! I had a bit of an accident this week when I ordered a new case but ordered it for an iPhone 5 not a 4s... what a doughnut so I needed a replacement fast! This one was only £2.49 and I think it is perfect for summer, so simple and plain but with really pretty detailing... and kind of matches my blog now I think about it!
