Why hello there - yes, that's me wearing glasses, this is my daily look now you know!
Working on a laptop Monday-Friday for my new job it is now essential that I wear glasses. I'm not actually sure how I'd cope without them which is crazy as I've only been wearing this prescription for a few months - it definitely helps with my constant screen staring.
These frames are from London Retro - you may remember me talking about them before in previous posts - I'm such a fan of their style.
These are 'Highgate' frames which are a deeper and squarer version of the Metropolitan frames - which I have already (see here) - but I have to see I definitely think I prefer these.
I picked the black shade as I thought it was probably a little better for work but I seriously love the look of tortoise shell and purple version too, a bit funkier than plain old black!
I am obsessed with these - by far my favourite glasses so far, I love the thinner arms and the larger frames, they are great for my face shape.
A little tip for you all aswell...... if you're not sure which frames are going to suit you best (it can be sooo tricky ordering online!) you can actually have a FREE home trial with Glasses Direct. Pick 4 styles, get them sent to you, choose your favourite and bobs your uncle - you've found your perfect frame without all the backwards and forwards! So, so easy!
Hands up if you're glasses wearer?! What's your favourite frame style?

Style \\ London Retro Metropolitans
Boo! Guess who's back with some brand spanking new glasses to talk about!
I'v always been worried about how I look in glasses, I think everyone gets that feeling when they aren't a 24/7 glasses wearer, but I've become alot more confident with them over the last 6 months or so.
These frames are from London Retro - a brand I have previous featured on A Yellow Brick Blog (here) and it's after wearing their brand that I've felt lot more comfortable with rocking glasses.
I've been dying for some squared rimmed glasses for a while now and these Metropolitan frames are literally perfect.
I love the size, the style and how they look on. I have to be careful as I have such a big head haha, I never want things to ever look to small compared to my features (forehead)!
Glasses Direct are a fabulous online glasses store with the great 7 day home trial feature. Pick 4 pairs to try out for free and get 7 days to pick your favourite/s - genius!
These frames are priced at £95 and come in the featured black shade or a brown/black.

A New Look : London Retro - Piccadilly Glasses
Why yes that is me - and yes I am wearing glasses, you like?
When I was asked if I'd like to try out a new pair of glasses from Glasses Direct - I jumped at the chance. It's been a loooong time since I picked out new frames and the ones I did have were so dated and made me look like a 46 year old librarian ..... they really weren't great.
So being able to try something completely new and giving myself a new look had me really excited!
I knew I wanted to go for something a bit bigger than my previous frames, I have a big face (yes I can except it.) so small glasses just don't really do me any favours!
I ended up going with the London Retro Piccadilly frames which you can see below in all their glory :)
It's also great for someone like me who is a little bit fussy and wants things just right - so to help you pick your favourite pair they offer a fab Free 7 day trial. (genius!)
Just pick 4 frames you like the look of and GD will send them out to you within 2 days. You can then try them out for real, pick your favourite and the order them! Easy peasy and no awkward ordering and regretting!
I am absolutely loving these from London Retro and definitely think I made the right choice with Piccadilly! They are plain black which I love as they go with everything (unlike my previous red things!) and I love the slight cat eye style.
I was also really intruiged to see that London Retro have teamed up with designer Nicholas King to create a limited edition range! This range of statement eyewear is to support the worldwide eye care charity Orbis - who you can find out more about right here.
Anything that helps a charity out is all good in my books, especially when you're getting something awesome for yourself at the same time, the range is available exclusively at Glassesdirect.co.uk and all profits will be donated to the wonderful people at Orbis.
So... what do you think of my new look?
