My Summer Hair Saviour

With the UK treating us to some warmer weather these past few months my hair has really taken a turn for the worse.
I mean dry, brittle and frizzy - it's never a look a girl wants - especially whilst trying to dodge styling and using heat to encourage growth!

Nothing I was using seemed to be helpful... until one day, whilst flicking through an old magazine, I spotted a random sachet and I decided to give it a go.
This sachet was for a new product from the Garnier Ultimate Blends range - a range which I have been a huge fan of in the past - the Weightless Nourisher Balm!

After using the sachet I was sold and went out straight away and invested in a full sized pot (which was on offer at the time! #winning).

This stuff is an intense conditioning treatment blended with Virgin Olive Oil, and Safflower Seed Oil!
With a creamy but light texture this balm is so nourishing without weighing down the hair at all.

I've become a complete addict. My hair hasn't felt like light, soft and naturally healthy for months and this product has become a firm fixture in my haircare routine, using it a minimum of once a week.
I've been trying to get my hands on the shampoo and conditioner in this range too but it's been sold out everywhere I go where I live at the moment - island struggles!

If your hair is in need of a pick me up and you're on a budget, I cannot recommend this product enough!

Simple Skincare Haul

When I saw that Boots had the whole of the Simple skincare range at half price last week I thought it would just be plain RUDE not to invest in a few bits for myself.
I love Simple and have been using it on and off since I was probably about 14- alongside Nivea they have got to be my favourite drugstore skincare brand.
Being on a bit of a budget for the next year ( you can read about about that here) I will be splashing out less on more expensive high end products/brands and sticking to barry bargains which I know work well!
I picked up 7 products from the range and wanted to tell you all about them as I have been so excited about how cheap they are right now!
L2R : Facial Wash, Facial Toner, Facial Scrub, Light Moisturiser, Illuminating Cream, BB Cream & Handwash.

Simple Refreshing Facial Wash Gel - Was £3.39 Now £1.69
This is a product I've used before, but not for a long while! I have to have a facial wash in the shower for every morning, something to wake both me and my skin up and prep my skin ready for my morning skincare routine and make-up!

Simple Soothing Facial Toner - Was £3.29 Now £1.64
This is always my back-up when I run out of my Liz Earle Skin Tonic. This is something I use every morning and every night - I feel grotty without a toner!

Simple Smoothing Facial Scrub - Was £3.39 Now £1.69
I'm a scrub addict. Especially during the summer months when I feel I can notice build up so much more! For the price this is a total bargain - great to keep in the shower and use 1 or 2 times a week!

Simple Protecting Light Moisturiser - Was £4.35 Now £2.17
I'm such a naughty girl when it comes to moisturising... after trying out a few thicker creams and my skin not reacting well I have become very distant from this everyday step. I used to use this as a teen and I thought for this cheap price - why not try it again! (So far so good...)

Simple Illuminating Radiance Cream - Was £6.59 Now £3.29
I have wanted to try this for so long, but my stingy self has refused to pay out the missley £6.59 for it haha! My Mum bought this months and months ago and said how much she liked it and I'm really glad I have finally bought it as it is lovely!

Simple Perfecting BB Beauty Balm - Was £6.29 Now £3.14
Again... I've wanted to try this since the day it came out! BB/CC creams are a favourite of mine for this time of year and I'm looking forward to using something a little lighter than my usual high coverage foundation. The only thing that worries me is that from what I saw there is only one shade... I haven't tried it yet so I'm hoping it will be okay!

Simple Handwash - Was £2.10 Now £1.05
Last but not least something for the kitchen/bathroom (which ever one runs out first!) I wash my hands alot so having something which is kind to skin is really good for me and for half the price I thought it would be a nice treat!

Do you use anything from Simple? What are your favourite products?

Get A L'oreal Liquid Lipstick Better Than Half Price!

If you read my blog/twitter/facebook etc you have probably noticed how much I LOVE a good bargain.
Sometimes I see an offer that is so good I just can't say no no matter how skint I may be.... this was one of those offers!
It was over a year ago now that I first blogged about the L'oreal L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks and how much I had fallen in love with them (see that glowing review - here) and since then my fuchsia drama baby has been used over and over again, becoming a regular in my make-up bag.

So seeing this HUGE saving on one of my favourite L'oreal products ever had me squealing with excitement.
The make-up giant has teamed up with the drinks giant that is Coca Cola - so at Boots now when you buy a 500ml bottle of diet coke you SAVE £5 on your liquid lipstick
Bringing the usual £8.99 price tag down to just £3.99. (Cheaper than most drugstore lip products out there ya know AND you'll get points on your advantage card!)
I decided to go with the nice summery shade 'Rose Symphony' (201), seeing as we are soooo nearly there - summer is on the way people! This is a gorgeous pinky shade with a sight coral tint, the formula to these is amazing and I'm so happy I have another one added to my collection.... in fact... I feel like I should go back and take advantage of this offer while it lasts really!

(And yes.... we all know I don't actually like coke .... but Joe does so it's all good! It won't go to waste!)
This offer is valid in Boots stores nationwide from April 29th - 26th May!

Library of Fragrance Christmas in New York Eau de Toilette 30ml Review

When I spotted this new product on the Boots website I think it took me all of 2 seconds to decide to purchase it!
The name alone had me sold - 'Christmas In New York' - and after hearing such great things about The Library Of Fragrance from other bloggers in the past I thought it must be a winner! So I splashed out with my points and paid with my handy advantage card!
Described as a 'unique scent of it's own' this brand have promised to infuse the magic of New York at Christmas into the perfect festive fragrance.
With a mix of festive spices, warm, roasting chestnuts and sweet apples this scent embodies all that we know and love about Christmas time.

I, myself, have New York in December on my list of things to do before I die. With all the lights, the buildings, the decorations and the snow - New York always looks like the perfect winter wonderland to get you in the spirit of Christmas, whatever your age! (I mean.. just think about Home Alone 2!)

When I first sprayed the cologne I was worried it smelt a little synthetic, but after letting it breathe for a bit I fell in love. For me, this isn't  scent I would use on myself, it's more of a home fragrance, like a candle.
I have been spraying this around my flat in the evenings and with my Christmas tree up with it's pretty fairy lights, it has been making my home feel super warm, festive and cosy!
If you're looking for a special scent for this time of year and candles aren't really your thing - this fragrance is great!
At the moment they are only £9.99 as an introductory offer on boots.com but if this scent doesn't sound like your cup of tea, they also have other Christmas fragrances that have released!

POTW #14 : Palmer's Shea Butter Formula Concentrated Cream

Product of the week time!
I am soooo guilty of over-using anti-bac hand gel and recently it has been having a right old affect on my poor old hands!
Yup, dry patches have started to appear, which is a totally new thing for me - I've never had this problem before, so I am blaming me and my addicted hand-gel ways!
I thought maybe it was time I upped my hand cream game and went for something a bit stronger than hand food and my standard Nivea creams.
This was on offer in Superdrug and I'm a huge fan of Palmer's and their products and as it said 'for extra dry skin' I thought why not give it a go! (No harm in trying things out right? Especially when they are just over £1!)
This has had such a great affect on my dry hands! The patches are completely gone and they feel so soft! Time to try this stuff on my dry legs and feet too!
The only thing I'm not too sure about is the scent... it's strange but bearable!

Have any of you guys tried this out before? If your struggle with dry patches I highly recommend this stuff!

Dove Purely Pampering Pistachio Cream and Magnolia Lotion Review

Pistachio products are a bit yummy aren't they?!
There aren't actually that many (that I know of) out there on those drugstore shop floors, so when I saw that Dove were releasing a new member of the purely pampering family with pistachio cream and magnolia I knew I had to try it out.
Now I have been trying to get my hands on this for weeks and weeks after seeing a post about it somewhere and I just couldn't find it!
So when I strolled into my local Suerdrug recently and spotted it on offer for only £1.99 (I think that's half price) I nearly had a mental excitement breakdown!
BARGAIN!
I've started to lean towards lotions over butters alot more recently! Mainly because they are alot easier to rub in therefore are alot quicker to apply (I am totes lazy!)

I have been LOVING this stuff!
I have been popping it on every morning (and sometimes in the evening too) which is not like me at all... normally my limbs are lucky if they see lotion twice a week...I know teribble aren't I!
A majorly yummy scent which lasts and lasts! I've been popping this on first thing and I can still smell it on my skin at like 3/4pm! That is some staying power!
My skin feels lovely and soft and I haven't seen any signs of dry skin in a long while!
I've already gone and bought another bottle while it's still on offer as I think I am going to be using this alot, especially over the upcoming summer months!

Seventeen SUPERLash Mascara & SUPERLash Liner Review

Before you say it.... I know - I'm on a spending ban -but this was too much of a bargain to just walk past and ignore!
My current/all-time favourite mascara, Maxfactor's Masterpiece Max, is running low and rather than forking out the £10 it is for a new one I thought I would give this penny-saver a go. Saving money AND trying out a brand new product - Deal!

This is the brand new mascara from Seventeen, a brand that seems to be on my blog ...alot. (what can I say, I'm loving them!) It is the Super Lash Mascara and as it is a newbie, Seventeen have got a fabulous saving on it at the moment.

Just £4.99 for the mascara (Saving £2 from the full price of £6.99) and not only that but you get a FREE Super Lash eyeliner to go with it! (as me and my pals would say... a barry bargain!)
I can be a bit fussy with mascara and only really like thinner-type brushes - ones that are more like combs, so before purchasing I quickly hopped onto the Boots website and looked for a photo of the brush (because there were 0 on the stand!) And thank the lord... it looked thin - and it is!

I colour I bought was Blackest Black (I wouldn't ever buy any different!) but I think they also do a black/brown for those of you who prefer that!
The packaging is super cute - bright red and yellow.... a bit like a super hero costume - I'm not going to loose that one in the make-up bag easily!

Ive been using this for the past few days and have been really liking it! I would definitley recommend 2 coats of this stuff. After one coat I wasn't overly excited at the outcome but after applying a little more over the top I was happy that it looked just as good as my Maxfactor baby that I cherish! (Not sure weather they were 93% longer loking but... I liked it!0
My only one problem so far with this product has been a bit of a panda eye effect. After a long day at work I seemed to have slight black ring underneath my eyes - which to my understanding would only be from this product as I haven't changed anything else! I am a bit guilty of a panda eye look some days - I literally don't know what I do wrong but it has seemed to be a bit worse than usual.
That is after a long 9 hour day - so maybe I can forgive?? (Does anyone have any tips at avoiding panda eyes? ... I would love to hear them!)
So yes, this has a thumbs up from me and my bank account! Now.... the Super Lash Liner.
Eyeliner's are something I'm not too fussy with. I try them all - pencil, khol, liquid, gel, felt tip .... I haven't found a holy grail yet just lots that I am a fan of!
And well... this was free so of course I was going to try it!
First of all I love that is has a felt tip type tip, I find them so easy to use and with it being an angled tip aswell it makes it even easier.
As I have really small eyes I don't use a huge amount of eyeliner as if I do my eyes become non-existent! (not a great look for me!)
I've used this on my lower lash line and it was so easy.
With this particular tip I think this would be fab for doing the upper lash line and flicks as it is so easy to be precise and neat with your lines!

So there we have it, another mascara and eyeliner sitting firmly in my make-up bag and all for less than £5!
Have any of you tried these out yet?

Soap & Glory's Face, Soap and Clarity 3-in-1 Daily Detox Vitamin C Facial Wash Review

Soap & Glory - a brand that I'm sure not only I love but YOU love aswell!
I have tried everything from footcare to body creams to eyeliners from these guys and everytime been blown away with the quality and results!
Something I hadn't tried until recently was their skincare range. Over the last year or so the skincare range has had a slight make-over and although they've kept their indiviual tounge in cheek names for products the skincare range packaging has become alot more clincial and professional looking. (not that this makes any difference to the product itself!)

After buying The Yule Monty last month and receiving a money off voucher for Soap and Glory's skincare products I have been looking through what they have to offer to find some new products to try out!
As it was 3 for 2 recently I took full advantage and grab 3 items, paid for 2 AND got £5 off with the voucher aswell - total bargain.
One of those products is this the Soap & Glory Face, Soap and Clarity 3-in-1 Daily Detox Vitamin C Facial Wash. (longest name for a product ever?)
I'm quite good with my skincare routine - always take my make-up off before bed (unless I've had a few too many to drink) and moisturise day and night.
But I rarely using my cleanse and polish hot cloth cleanser from Liz Earle if I'm not wearing any make-up, I like to save it for make-up removal and make-up removal only!
So I always need a wash or cleanser that I can use daily every morning and this seemed to fit the bill.
This is tucked in my shower with the rest of my hundreds of products and I use it every morning when I shower to prepare my skin for the day ahead.
This stuff is packed full of amazing ingredients -my favourite being the ultra-soft, jojoba scrub-beads. Which means I get a fab rejuvnating and refeshnig wash aswell as a gentle scrub all in one! No only that but it also includes super-tasking vitamins, minerals and amino acids.
This stuff is "Strategically forumalted for oily/combination skin" - which is great for me at the moment as I seem to be rocking both oily and dry patches!
Each morning this has kept my skin feeling clean and fresh, it seems to be the perfect wake up call for my face!
As much as I love this product I probably wouldn't spend the £8 this normally costs for it as I think it is a tad expensive for my budget but luckily these products are always on some form of offer so nine times out of ten your going to get it cheaper anyway!

Have you guys tried out any of the skincare range from Soap & Glory yet?

Accessorize Lipstick : Shade 6 - Passionate Review

So I know that I've done a couple of "lip" posts recently and I actually have a few more coming up too (I am obsessed  but this is a brand I haven't bought from before so wanted to share my purchase and my thoughts!
So.... I recently went for a little browse around my local Superdrug to see if they had a new products or good deals on and I found myself checking out a stand that I don't normally pay alot of attention too - Accessorize.
The packaging to it all is so pretty and unique and really attracted me to all the products (and not to mention the fact they all have moment off at the moment!)
I settled on a lipstick (of course, this is me we're talking about!) and it is shade 6 and called Passionate.
Now these lipsticks are normally £4.95 - a pretty good price as it is but they have £1 off at the moment so are the bargain price of £3.95!
I also managed to use some of my Superdrug points that I had - a whopping.... £2, which bought it down to just £1.95 - now that is a steal!
I chose this colour as I am currently on the hunt for more Autumn shades for my collection. I have so many pinks, corals, purples and reds and I think I need some more dark and sultry colours to choose from!
Even though it looks black in the tube it is a really really dark purple! A colour that in previous years I have been way too chicken to wear but now I am all for it - bring it on, I am taking the plunge!
This is a perfect purple colour and I think it would suit a number of skintones and hair colours!
I would like to apologise for the rubbish lighting for the swatch, as you can probably tell as you go through these photos the sun went down on this particular 'photoshoot' haha! Hopefully I'll be able to tweet or Instagram a better photo soon!

Have you guys tried anything from Accessorize's cosmetics? Make sure you enter my giveway girls and boys - link in the sidebar!!!

New! Seventeen Stay Pout Lipsticks

I am a lipstick hoarder. It's true, I confess.
My collection just keeps growing and growing and there's not a shade of pink, purple, orange or red that I don't want to try!
So when new lipstick ranges released my first reaction is to try them out and check out all the colours that are available.
This happened recently with Seventeen's new lipstick collection - Stay Pout.
(I would just like to firstly apologise for the quality of my photos for this post, really struggling with taking photos after work nowadays with it getting darker so much earlier, hope you can forgive me!)

I first heard about these whilst flicking through a beauty magazine a while ago and seeing a photo of the colour "Rule Breaker" - now this year I'm all about trying darker shades and venturing out of my comfort zone so I knew that I had to find this gorgeous plumy-red shade and try it out.
So when I saw the collection had been released I headed straight for Rule Breaker and swatched it! It was so pigmented and felt nice and hydrating after just one swatch that I was immediately sold and seeing as they were on offer (3 for £10 on all Seventeen products) I decided to grab another.... 5. I know, I know - issues.
I got a range colours from the dark reddy-purple to a cute baby pink and have been so impressed with them!
They are probably about average in price for a drug-store brand lipstick at £4.49, but like I said at the moment Boots have all Seventeen products 3 for £10 which is a bargain - basically getting one for free!

1. Rule Breaker
2. Infared
3. Date Night
4. Make An Entrance
5. Delinquent
6. Kiss Me Quick
All these colours are fabulous and amazing additions to my ever growing lipstick collection.
I got such a mixture of shades from the dark purple/red of 'Rule Breaker' to the bright orange shade 'Make An Entrance' to the gorgeous baby pink 'Kiss Me Quick' I'm so glad I got such a wide range of colours. And even though shades 2 and 3 look similiar in the swatch there is a big difference in the shade of red which you can see in the previous photo of the lipsticks.
I think my favourite though has to be Delinquent - the gorgeous bright fuschia pink!
All these colours stay on so so well and keep the lips looking and feeling moisturised another great make-up purchase!

Have you tried any of the Stay Pout collection yet? Any colours you fancy trying out?
