Surviving Party Season

It's that time of year again where our social calendars become fuller than ever and every weekend has an aray of parties, meals and meets that keep you busier than Santa himself!

With that in mind I thought I would share with you a few of my must-haves for getting through party season, I know alot of you with be juggling parties, piss-ups and work shifts all within the same 24 hours so take note as some of these could be lifesavers for you!
Beat The Blisters
First up, Compeed Blister Relief plasters*! A Christmas/New Years party outfit wouldn't be complete without a fabulous pair of heels and if you're anything like me, you would have bought new ones! After hours of walking, mingling, dancing and whatever other moves you're pulling out of the bag you're feet (unless you have magic soles and toes) are going to ache and you may even be getting some pesky blisters! Be prepared by keeping sliter plasters in your bag! These are great for shoes that are rubbing or even blisters on the bottoms of your feet!
Top Tip : Putting some Vaseline on your feet before wearing new heels can help prevent rubbing!

Refresh That Face
With all the naughty foods and drinks we will be consuming over the next 4 weeks our skin can really take a beating! Not only this but with all the events going on, your bound to be wearing make-up more than usual!
Doing a face mask every week can help keep your skin looking bright and healthy! Rodial's Hangover Mask* is one of my favourites for this, it keeps my skin feeling rejuvenated and clear from any build up and nastiness!

Eyes On The Prize
There's a couple of beauty bits in life that can completely change your look in seconds, one of those things is false lashes! If you don't have long to get ready and want to make yourself look more glamorous than usual - whack on a pair of lashes! These lashes are from Nouveau Lashes and they are from the Let's Go Lashes*  range! As you can see in the picture below these lashes are gorgeous full-on fan lashes and I am so excited to try them out over this holiday season.
"I got that red lip, classic, things that you like" (Yup, I'm quoting TS)
Red lips, red lips, red lips! I love a red lip at this time of year (unless you're rocking a pink dress!)! This one I've including is one of my all-time favourites! Rimmel Apocalips - Big Bang - is a super bright pillar box red and it is perfect for transforming yourself from drab to fab! Plus red is super festive!

Bloat No More
Tight bodycon dress for NYE? High waisted skirts/trousers to rock on Christmas Eve? Being bloated is the worst! Peppermint tea is a great way to relive any bloat and keep your digestive system in check! I like to have one every evening before bed, it's really refreashing and calming and makes me feel like I'm kind of being healthy... especially after the 600 mince pies I've probably eaten already!

Bags Be Gone
Finally it's time for a pick me up for after all those late nights! I love this eye bag slayer, for one.... it is a play on Buffy the Vampire Slayer... the greatest show ever made and my fav! I keep it in the fridge so it is amazing for reducing puffy eyes and also fab for headaches.... coz you may have a few of them after those heavy nights!

I hope you guys liked this post and have a great time over the next month, partying and celebrating :)

11 Party Dresses Under £30

It's party season and I have a few posts coming up on here to help you get ready for that festive season of eating, drinking and looking fabulous!
Today is all about the dresses. Sometimes, us social butterflys and party lovers have more than one event to attend in December.
Work do's, family do's, general get-togethers and New Years Eve - the thought of buying so many outfits is stressful to say the least so here is a few party dresses I've found for under £30! The cheaper the price the more we can buy right?

5 Things To Do This Christmas

Christmas is my favourite time of year. The atmosphere just makes me so happy, the lights, the music, the movies, the food - everything just make you feel like a kid again doesn't it?
We all have our Christmas traditions but each year it's also fun to do something new or make a new tradition - so here's 5 things you could do this December!
1. Go to Winter Wonderland
That magically festive place in Hyde Park is a fantastic way to get into the Christmas Spirit. I myself have been once - I wish it was more but sometimes it's hard doing a day trip to London and trying to fit everything in! Nevertheless me and my friends loved it and took in all there was to see and do! There's everything you'd want in a Christmas market plus lots of entertainment aswell! One of my favourite things was going on the Ferris wheel - such a gorgeous view!
2. Make Your Own Mince Pies
This is something that me and my brother used to do with my Mum every single Christmas Eve. I love mince pies and don't understand how some people don't.... they are amazing! I used to love making different shaped pastry to put on the tops, stars, hearts, scalloped edges! Then sitting down in the evening to watch a Christmas movie with warm mince pies from the oven and ice cream - perfect!

3. Do A Christmas Lights Tour
Wherever you live there must be houses near you that are known for their elaborate lights and Christmas displays outside their homes! What I love doing is getting in the car (or even going for a walk) and checking out all the great Christmas lights! Get a Xmas CD on in the car and go oooo and ahhhh with your friends, family or both! (Photo credit : google images)
4. Invest In Some Festive Knitwear
Christmas jumpers have made a big impact on the fashion scene over the last 3 years or so! It is a must really isn't it? There's so many out there nowadays, so no matter what you fancy - funny, cute, fluffy or subtle... they'll be some Christmas knitwear out there for you somewhere!

5. Throw Your Own Christmas Party
December is the busiest time of year for restaurants and venues so sometimes getting all your friends together for a little Christmas celebration can be hard work.
So.... why not take the party into your own hands? Get all your gal pals together, choose someones home, put in £10 each and head on down to your nearest supermarket! Weather you decide to cook a full on dinner or just have a fun buffet you're going to be alot more relaxed than sitting in an place with other people you don't know!
You can drink and eat as much as you want..... and even wear your pjs if you want! This is probably 5 times cheaper than going out together and you can watch a Christmas movie ... or maybe watch the X Factor final whilst being as loud as you want and staying as late as you want!

Lauren's Way Self Tan Mousse & Glam Tan Review

So, winter is upon us. Not only does this mean chapped lips, freezing cold fingers and toes and tights become a staple in the wardrobe but we all get a bit...well.... pale.
I, myself, look like a total ghost in the autumn & winter months so fake tanning is normally key to me looking half normal.
So when the fabulous ladies at Lauren's Way contacted me after I had been raving about their rollers on twitter (seriously they are amazing!) and asked me whether I'd want to try out some of their tanning products I jumped at the chance - seriously who wouldn't!
I had heard so many amazing things about this tan so I jumped straight in and whacked it on as soon as the postman dropped it through the letterbox.
Because I'm fairly fair skinned and not an expert tanner I went for the 'Medium' shade in the mousse - I think this was the safest option for me to start off with!

I do have a confession to make - I normally only tend to tan before a big night out - 1. because I am lazy and 2. because I'm always scared I'm going to totally muck it up.
There is nothing worse than seeing someone with horrific streaks or who is clearly the same colour as a tangerine -I do NOT want this to be me!
I've been using this tan alot over the last few weeks as I have had lots of partys, night outs and general fun-type things to go to!
But for these photos I thought I would just show you the difference from just ONE application!
I found this mousse so easy to use (thank you for the free mitt aswell LW!) Just 1 pump from the bottle goes a long long way and I think the smell is slightly better than the other tans I've used but of course there is still that slight "biscuit smell" that everyone has grown to know and love haha! (although I've never really got that... what biscuit to you people eat?!)
It doesn't take me long to cover my whole body with this stuff and streak free I must say! One thing I was super impressed with is the drying time
Normally I'm flapping around the bathroom trying to get my tan to dry and feel less sticky before I get dressed again but the LW tan dries so quickly - I was so shocked! Massive brownies points for that one girls and boys!
As you can see in the photos there is a huge difference for just one quick once over with the mousse AND this is a developing mousse so you leave it on for approx. 8 hours and then wash it off for the best results - so pop it on before bed and this tan develops while you sleep - easy peasy!
The mousse is priced at £17.95 and the Glam Tan spray (mentioned below) is £18.95 and that comes with a FREE tanning mitt worth £3.99! To me these are total bargain prices, cheaper than St. Tropez and Fake Bake and for, in my opinion, a better product!

With the LW mousse tan I was also sent one of the "Glam Tan" spray bottles! When I fake tan I normally use Fake Bake or St. Mortiz and always go for a mousse, I find it so much easier to use than anything else so this is something that initially scared me a little to try out but I am actually am so impressed with how easy it has been to use!
Where it is quite a bit darker than the 'medium' mousse it took me a lot of courage to try it out but with the mitt the spray technology makes it so easy to apply evenly! So, thank you LW for helping me get out of me mousse comfort zone!

Fake tan has so many benefits - it makes you look healthier, it makes you look skinnier, it makes you feel more confident,  it isn't harmful to your skin and body unlike sunbeds and sun-bathing, you are in control - want to go darker? Do it again tomorrow and the next day! If you need a pick me up with all this gloomy rain and cloud - hit the bottle and you won't regret it!

I can honestly say now - hand on heart - that the LW is the best at-home fake tan I have EVER used and will 100% be purchasing when these bottles have run out, because with the weather as it is and no holidays booked as of yet ... I'm going to need it!

(***Disclaimer : This product was kindly sent to me by the lovely people at Lauren's Way. . All thoughts, opinions and ideas are always my own and I would never include an item or product on A Yellow Brick Blog that I didn't truly believe in.)

OOTN : My BFF's Hen Night

This weekend it was my best friend's hen-do! It was a total surprise for her, all she knew was that she was going away! We whisked her down to Bournemouth and along with shopping and some good food we of course had a big night out!
I want to try and do my fashion based posts so I thought I'd share with you my outfit from Saturday night, this will be a very short post but hopefully you guys will like something a little different to my usual posts!
I bought this dress back in the summer and had completely forgotten about it until I was hunting through my new wardrobe on Friday night trying to think of things to pack! It is so comfortable and has the prettiest embossed pattern all over it, I love how different it is. They also do it in white and it is in the sale for £12 which is a total bargain (original price £35) - in fact it is the cheapest thing I'm wearing!
Most of my outfits I had planned were super plain, being mainly black, so I thought getting a bright clutch bag would break it up a bit and brighten me up! I bought this from ASOS it was again in the sale for only £13.50 down from £35 - and by the looks of it, it is now sold out!
I've mentioned these before on my blog in my May Favourites - they are the Rosalie Black Leather Look Buckle Demi Wedge from Boohoo! I got these months and months ago but because they go with so much I wear them all the time! They are so versatile and so comfortable (for the first few hours) - I love them.
I'm also wearing my hair piece from Wonderland Wigs! I recently did a post on this (here) - I am obsessed with this thing and cannot wait to invest in some more!
They look so natural and are so so easy to attach and wear.... slowly being converted from extensions here! Saves me so much time when getting ready - my real hair now just looks so short, thin and drab, I need one of these permanently attached to my head!
I am also wearing Mac Studio Sculpt foundation, Rimmel's Apocalips in Big Bang and for my eyes I have used the Naked palette from Urban Decay and I have finished the look with Eylure 107 false eyelashes (as always!).
Let me know what you think of this short post and if you like my blog please follow via GFC and Bloglovin - I am so close to hitting 500 followers on Bloglovin and I am starting a giveaway as soon as I hit it as a massive thank you to everyone - how exciting!
