New Lee Stafford Bleach Blondes & Arganoil Releases

I am all up for trying out new products and when it's from one of my favourite brands I'm all the more excited!
Lee Stafford is a brand/guy I have shouted from the rooftops about for years and years - I'm such a lover of his stuff and each new range he brings out just seems to get better and better.
I've used products from both of these ranges before, so too see new additions have me excited and intrigued!
Bleach Blondes GOLDen girl Oil*, Bleach Blondes Tone Correcting Conditioning Spray*, Arganoil Nourishing Miracle Mist*, Arganoil Night Repair Serum*

First up lets talk about the new products in the Bleach Blondes range.
As you all know, I'm not a natural blonde (sorry for spoiling the illusion) and trying to maintain a good shade of pretty blonde whilst keeping my hair in good condition can take a few products.
Because I have bleached hair I really do try to keep it healthy and strong especially at the ends and number one on list list is always - oils.
GOLDen girl OiL is an oil said to be a 'kiss of life for bleached hair' something I desperately need after a few blow dry and straightening sessions! Before I had my hair cut into a lob the ends were so thin and straggly and I really don't want my hair to be in that condition again this time round!
This oil can be used on wet or dry hair and has a lovely weightless, non-greasy formula. The scent is the classic LS scent which I love and I've been using this when my hair is damp and then again once it has air-dryed from the mid-lengths to the ends.
GOLDen girl OiL hydrates thirst quenching hair, amplifies shine and helps to neutralise brassy tones - perfect for us blondies!

Next up is the Tone Correcting Conditioning Spray. This actually surprised me, I've seen sprays like this before and they are normally something you spray in your hair before showering but this stuff is for afterwards - not to be washed out.
Another violet toning product to help get rid of those brassy/copper tones but also a conditioning spray to keep your hair strong, soft and moistoursied. Genius!

Now.... onto those Arganoil newbies!
The Nourishing Miracle Mist has slowly become my favourite new hair product in my routine! It reminds me a bit of the Ubuntu Oils Repairing Mist which is used daily when I had extensions, it's light and not greasy in the slightest! It has transformed my dry, processed ends into softer and more mangeable locks. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Last but not least is the Arganoil Night Repair Serum. I love a product which can get to work while I'm getting my beauty sleep - no leaving on for 15 minutes and then rinsing out, this stuff you can pop on and just head to bed - lovely jubley!
This overnight miracle treatment is a moisture infused lotion you pop on your mid-lengths to ends before bed - but don't worry this stuff is easy peasy and absorbs quickly so won't leave a nasty mark on your pillow! In fact.... I'm about to comb some through my hair right now!
Leaving your hair feeling protected and regenerated this is the perfect weekly beauty treat.

Well there's another 4 Lee Stafford products to add to my ever-growing collection - you can find them all on boots.com and in store now :)

Paul Mitchell Smoothing Super Skinny Collection

Since having my hair cut off into a lob I have been spending alot more time, pampering, styling and heat-abusing my locks! Short hair may be easier but I still seem to be using just as many, if not more, products.

I was recently asked by the amazing HQ Hair if I wanted to try out some products from the haircare giant Paul Mitchell.
Knowing the positive and professional reputation that surrounds the brand and after using some cheap drugstore products over the past few months I was all in for a trying out something new and a bit snazzy.
Super Skinny Daily Shampoo* | Super Skinny Daily Treatment* | Super Skinny Serum*

After being given some options I decided to go with the 'Smoothing' collection.
Since getting my hair cut and coloured I have been wearing it down alot. It's so nice to wear my hair down and not have it feel straggly or ratty, although I still suffer from those annoying fly-aways and slight frizzyness.
A collection aimed at cleansing, smoothing and softening the hair seemed right up my blonde street and I couldn't wait to try them out.

They came in a cute little bag which I've forgotten to photo because I'm an idiot and are all full sized products.
Products included :

First up lets talk about the scent - super yummy apples and lemons! Well I'm sure it's apples and lemons.... that's what my nose is telling me anywho! Really sweet, which I love, and really fresh - perfect for when you need a bit of zest to wake you up!
The shampoo leaves my hair feel deeply cleansed and rid of any products I may have lurking in there.
The skinny daily treatment is basically a posh name for a conditioner. A nice creamy consistency that I've been using from the mids to the ends of my hair.
I have been using less and less each time I use this as I did have a couple of times where I used a little too much and my hair felt a bit over-done with treatment! (It felt like I hadn't washed it out properly... eww!)

Both these products are said to reduce drying time, which I actually hadn't realised at first but I did notice that I was having alot less time with my hairdryer.... although it could just be the fact I have half the amount of hair than I used too that makes me feel this way!

Before I dry my hair I have been using the super skinny serum. Serums are something that have taken a backseat for me over the last 2 years as hair oils have strongly taken over. This serum has had rave reviews from around the globe and won countless awards - which had me really excited to try it out.
It smoothes, conditions and seals hair strands helping to keep the hair silky, shiny and frizz-free in any weather.... thank the lord!
Again, I have been using less and less of this each time - I think the first time I tried it I kind of forgot that I had had my hair cut and didn't need as much as was left with wayyyy too much soaking into my locks!
This serum is currently my favourite haircare product - I've noticed a big difference in the frizzyness of my hair, plus it's looking alot shinier -  so it is definitley working wonders.

Bought individually the products are priced as : Shampoo £11.75, Daily Treatment £14.75 & Serum £18.95.

I've nearly used the shampoo and conditioner up now but I think the serum will probably last me about a year - no joke, it's huge and with my short hair a little goes a long way!

A fabulous treat for my hair, I'm really looking forward to browsing the rest of HQ Hair's website, the amount of amazing brands they have on there it's going to make my wishlist extra long, I can just tell.

Payday Boots Haul

Every payday I like to treat myself, now I'm not talking about a chanel handbag or trip to Paris but I like to get myself a few new little things to try or maybe a new pair of shoes or jeans.
Life is not fun when all your hard earned cash goes on bills is it? We've got to feel like we've got something nice out of working all month long!
Of course, once again my money has been spent in the big bad Boots! A few things on offer caught my eye along with a few newbie products too! But of course before I go and try them out like any normal person I must photo them and show them to you lovely people, who may or may not care.......
I love these face mask sachets. I've lost count at the amount of times they have been featured on here! For only £1 each they are the greatest weekly treat for my skin without breaking the bank, so when I saw NEW ones on the Boots website I squealed with excitement and ordered them straight away! (I order in store, free delivery and you can collect the very next day - perfect!) Along with my ultimate favourite the Hot Spring Sauna exfloiating mask I also ordered 3 of the masks from the new 7th heaven collection. Coffee Mocha Mud, Banana & Honey Masque & Argan Oil Mud.
They all sound amazing right?! I've used the Argan Oil Mud one already and had great results... although the smell wasn't fab!
More skincare now in the form of some Nip + Fab goodies. Being half price online at the moment I thought it would be rude not to invest in anything! I had heard alot about this Dragon's Blood range and after previously trying some of Nip + Fab's other skincare and loving it I decided it was a must.
I thought I'd try the Plumping Serum and the Cleansing Pads, they promise alot so I'm hoping for a fabulous skin overhaul sometime soon!
Yes this was definitely a "that is an amazing offer, I should probably buy it" purchase! I've had the Oral B Pro 600 toothbrush for about 18 months now and I was due to buy some new heads for it. BUT seeing this - the Oral B Pro 2000 toothbrush - down to just £27.99 instead of £70 I thought... stuff the heads I'm upgrading to a better toothbrush instead!
SUCH a good decision, I can really feel the difference with this, it is soooo much better than the 600! Bargain of the week!
I also bought some of the Colgate Max White One toothpaste as it was half price, I've used it before and liked it and I hate forking out for toothpaste so for only £1.99 this was perfect!
Last buy not least, some essentials. I talked about the Nivea Creme Sensitive shower gel in my post yesterday - I love this stuff and it was only £1 so I had to pick up another.
The next item was actually something I grabbed to get my total over a certain amount so I could use a points booster with my advantage card.... yes I'm one of those people! The Maxfactor Masterpiece Max is a mascara I have used for years and years and a total favourite of mine. Seeing as my Rollerlash sample is slowly running out and I can't afford a new one this is going to have to do for now - I'm liking the new packaging aswell for it.
And finally... some highly un-exciting vitamins! Now, I am not a fan of tablets or anything similar, so, like a child I love the good old chewy gummy vitamins! These are super yummy.... and they make me feel like I'm kind of doing my body some good?!

What have you treated yourself too this month?

NEW Garnier Ultimate Blends Honey Treasures Collection

That's right ladies - Garnier have bought out a NEW collection in their ever so popular Ultimate Blends range!
I have been a fan of the Ultimate Blends products since they came out last year - another affordable haircare brand that's good on both my hair and my bank balance, yes please!
Seeing the new Honey Treasures collection named "The Strength Restorer" whilst being in the process of changing my hair (involving alot of bleach) seemed like a god send!

There are 4 products in the Honey Treasures range - a shampoo, a conditioner, a 1 minute treatment and a serum. The products were on offer so, of course, I picked up all 4, which actually only came to about £10 - bargain right?
It is said to be for fragile hair, prone to breakage - which is me down to a tee at the moment, healthier and happier hair is my aim!
I have used the Herbal Essences honey based range (Bee Strong) a lot and love the affect it has on my locks so trying out another hair range with honey in it made me super excited!

The shampoo and conditioner smell great! I have used them around 3 or 4 times now and have been pleased with the results.
I'd say the conditioner is quite thin compared to others out there which makes me use alot more of it to feel like I'm covering my hair well - so I can't see it lasting that long, but for the half price price being £1.94, who can complain?

The 1 minute treatment also smells great, I've used it 3 times now and it is more or less gone. I have fairly long hair and when using a hair mask or treatment I like to thoroughly cover my hair root to tip!
This is great for a little pick me up once or twice a week, it leaves my hair soft and shiny and doesn't break the bank balance either!

Lastly the serum. I'm not going to lie I haven't used a hair serum in forever, it's all been about oils for me over the last year or so! I decided to give this a go on it's own - no other products alongside it, to see how it worked in my hair!
I have to say unfortunately the ends of my hair didn't feel half as soft as when I use the sleek perfector oil from Ultimate Blends (which I'm obsessed with.... I love the scent), so I will be using this serum with that instead of on it's own as it DID make really shiny!

Overall I do really like the range, they smell great and make my hair really shiny and mangeable - BUT I think I do still prefer 'The Sleek Restorer' collection!

Check out the range at Boots - here.

Face B4 Anti-Bacterial Face Wash & Serum Review

It's time for another review here on A Yellow Brick Blog and today it is a skincare one! So grab a cup of tea, coffee, squash and get comfy!
I have always been fairly lucky with my skin. Never had a bad case of spots and only ever rarely getting one or two obvious ones dotted around my face and bumps/pimples down the side of my face.
Saying this about 4 weeks ago I noticed a small outbreak on my forehead, especially around my hairline - also the rough 'bumps' down each side of my face looking worse than usual! So I couldn't believe my luck when these 2 products came into my life.
Face B4 Anti-Bacterial Face Wash & Serum*
Face B4 is an anti-bacterial regime of daily skincare aiming to reduce skin conditions and help maintain healthy looking, clear skin.
These 2 had my attention from the start - something to help reduce blemishes and redness was definitely what I needed so I jumped straight in and starting using them!
First up, the daily cleansing foam wash. This is a combined cleanser and toner with a dual pump-action nozzle which is super easy to dispense!
I love this idea, no more step after step after step - this is a quick and easy foam you apply to damp skin, massage in and then wash off 60seconds later - simples!
I have been using this every evening after removing my make-up with a hot cloth cleanser. It does say to use this morning and evening but for me it's just been an evening routine as I have other products I use in the shower each morning.
It is really gentle and pretty much scentless, it's really soft and leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean.
Next up is 2 of the FaceB4 regime the anti-bacterial after cleasning serum.
Now I really need to get this off my chest before I start.... I HATE the smell of this stuff - it is rank.
I had to just get that out, because it's the only downfall to these two!

The serum is to be applied to dry skin after the foam wash. I've found 2 pumps is about right to cover my whole face, I pump it onto my fingertips and gently massage it all over until it's been absorbed!
I then follow up with my Nivea soft cream and head to bed!

I've been using this for a few weeks and have been really pleased with the results. The few spots I had on my forehead actually went down in just a couple of days and seemed to have been kept at bay!
Bit gutted you can't tell much of a difference in each of my crappy photos because in real life when I look in the mirror I see such a difference!

The redness of my skin has changed drastically and this is what I've been most happy with. My skin DOES looks clearer and Face B4 has given me a nice natural glow which makes me look healthier and definitely more 'awake'.
If you're having problems with redness and blemishes I'd give this a go, it's so easy and will probably work even better if used both morning and night (which is what I'm going to try now!)
You can find this duo both online at their official site here or at Superdrug/Boots. The foam cleanser is priced at £14.95 and the serum £9.99.

Indeed Labs Retinol Reface Review

Another product from Indeed labs today! I love my Hydraluron ALOT so I thought I'd try out something else from this new innovative brand!
Up today is the Retinol Reface - a skin resurfacer cream with a cutting edge forumla!
As Indeed Labs have 1/3 off at Boots at the moment I thought it was the perfect time to pick up this product I had been eyeing up for a while. Instead for the £19.99 price tag I paid only just over £13!
This serum has a list as long as my arm of benefits which is what got me interested in the first place. These incude - to increase cell turnover, to reduce the appearance of fine lines, to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, restore skin's radiance, reduce the signs of aging and improve the skin's tone and elasticity.
Alng with all those benefits the number one reason I picked this up because it promised to give me softer and smoother skin - what every girl wants right?

This stuff uses different forms of retinol to deliver it's promises so here is a bit of technical talk for you all which I found on the official description of the Retinol Reface.

Retinol RA (Rapid Action) : Exclusive rapid action formulated with penetration enhancer that accelerates skin’s activity for rapid results on the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Retinol Micro-spheres : A soft , pure retinol encapsulated in plant microspheres that slowly releases into skin. This retinol has a low irritant potential and maintains all of its efficacy.
Retinol-like peptide : Multi-faceted , anti-ageing , retinol –like peptide technology that provides same benefits as traditional retinol, without the skin irritation and /or discomfort.
RETINOL [R]3 visibly helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, revitalises the appearance of sun damaged skin and restores healthy, younger-looking skin.

Although the word retinol has a bad reputation for side effects I can assure you this stuff is safe to use. Unlike other products this stuff also helps to moisturise your skin which stops the common redness, dryness and peeling in which other retinol products give.
I apply this nightly after I have done my ritual of using Liz Earle's cleanse and polish followed by the skin tonic. I use about 2 pumps and apply it all over my face in circular motions whilst avoiding my eyes and lips. After it has sunk into the skin I just put on some moisturiser, normally just my Nivea soft cream, over the top and I'm ready for my beauty sleep!

I have been using this stuff for a couple of weeks now and I have actually have 3 seperate people say to me at work that my skin is glowing!
Maybe it's just because I see myself everyday that I haven't noticed the subtle change but there has got to have been one!
As for wrinkles I'm keeping a close eye on them and hoping that after a little while I'll see a change. I know I'm only 23 but I still have a few that I'd like to get gone!
My skin is feeling really soft and smooth aswell - just like it promise and the rough pimple patch of skin I once had has slowly started to dwindle away!
Although this stuff is probably aimed at a more mature audience I find it great and will definitely carry on using it!

For just over £13 I am so glad I decided to give this a go, now.... onto the next Indeed Labs product - any recommendations girls and boys?
