MAC Eyeshadow - Cranberry Review

I love mac and everything I own from them I treasure like a child. It's not a brand I can always afford and I have to really love something to splash out the money for it, even though I always know it will be worth it!
Something I have been looking at for a long, long while and totally lusting over is this eyeshadow, Cranberry.
I was in Bournemouth recently which is actually the closest MAC to my hometown on the Isle Of Wight - other than that it is London (way too far to travel for an eyeshadow!!)
Alot of my Mac purchases are bought online or on holiday and it's always exciting when I get new stuff... yes I'm that cool.
This shadow that I have been seen everywhere for months and months and even though it is only £12.50 (in the long run, not that expensive!) it has taken me a while to cough up the cash for it!
It is a gorgeous shimmery red/purple/copper colour, the best way to describe it - Cranberry. (funny that!)
I'm sure you have all seen this by now but if you haven't I'm sure you are falling in love right now!
This is definitely has more of a purple tint in real life  than the photos are making out - 'boo you whore camera!' but as you can see the colour and quality is of course amazing!
This is an absolutely perfect colour for Autumn and a fantastic addition to any collection!
I cannot wait to use it again and create some great smokey eyes with it!
And if this isn't the sort of colour you've used before -don't worry, me either - I was a little nervous it would look a bit crazy and OTT on me but it is subtle and blends so well, I used it along side my Urban Decay Naked palette and it worked great!

Have you bought this badboy yet? Any other Autumn coloured shadows you can recommend to me?

MUA 1D Lipstick : Rock Me - Louis

Okay... don't judge me. But yes it is true - I have bought one of the One Direction Kiss You lipsticks from MUA!
I saw these a while ago and was actually really impressed when I first had a look, although I have to say I was definitely the oldest person there looking through the stand and I may have had a few looks of some tweens haha!
But for me it's not about the band, it's about the make-up!
Now I do like myself a bit of 1D (Zayn to be precise), I can't say I am a huge fan girl - but I do like them and their music!
So (like most of you aswell I bet) I wanted to have a look at this make-up collection everyone had be raving about! I know I'm a little late on uploading this post  as the Kiss You lipsticks came out months ago but I've been umming and arring about getting it for so long! (Although I have no idea why as they are a bargain!)
This shade is called "Rock Me" and it is the Louis shade!
I really liked all of the colours but thought I'd just pick up 1 to start off with. This is a gorgeous baby lavendar pink colour, such a pretty and original shade!
I have to say I love the packaging and the fact the lipstick is embossed with "1D" and " x and o's" it looks so cool and makes it look alot more expensive than it is, I'm impressed boys!
It is really soft and moisturising and once you have it on it stays on really well - although I was sad to use it for the first time and say goodbye to that cool 1D logo on the top!
The only thing I'd say is that it does need a few coats to get a good opaque colour.
This is perfect for both a casual day-to-day look and for a night out with a full face of make-up - I love it!
For only £3 I highly recommended these lipsticks - go check out the rest of the collection girls and boys, the other 4 are a total range of shades so there is something to please everyone!

Have you tried any of the MUA 1D Kiss You lipsticks?

OOTN : My BFF's Hen Night

This weekend it was my best friend's hen-do! It was a total surprise for her, all she knew was that she was going away! We whisked her down to Bournemouth and along with shopping and some good food we of course had a big night out!
I want to try and do my fashion based posts so I thought I'd share with you my outfit from Saturday night, this will be a very short post but hopefully you guys will like something a little different to my usual posts!
I bought this dress back in the summer and had completely forgotten about it until I was hunting through my new wardrobe on Friday night trying to think of things to pack! It is so comfortable and has the prettiest embossed pattern all over it, I love how different it is. They also do it in white and it is in the sale for £12 which is a total bargain (original price £35) - in fact it is the cheapest thing I'm wearing!
Most of my outfits I had planned were super plain, being mainly black, so I thought getting a bright clutch bag would break it up a bit and brighten me up! I bought this from ASOS it was again in the sale for only £13.50 down from £35 - and by the looks of it, it is now sold out!
I've mentioned these before on my blog in my May Favourites - they are the Rosalie Black Leather Look Buckle Demi Wedge from Boohoo! I got these months and months ago but because they go with so much I wear them all the time! They are so versatile and so comfortable (for the first few hours) - I love them.
I'm also wearing my hair piece from Wonderland Wigs! I recently did a post on this (here) - I am obsessed with this thing and cannot wait to invest in some more!
They look so natural and are so so easy to attach and wear.... slowly being converted from extensions here! Saves me so much time when getting ready - my real hair now just looks so short, thin and drab, I need one of these permanently attached to my head!
I am also wearing Mac Studio Sculpt foundation, Rimmel's Apocalips in Big Bang and for my eyes I have used the Naked palette from Urban Decay and I have finished the look with Eylure 107 false eyelashes (as always!).
Let me know what you think of this short post and if you like my blog please follow via GFC and Bloglovin - I am so close to hitting 500 followers on Bloglovin and I am starting a giveaway as soon as I hit it as a massive thank you to everyone - how exciting!

Fabulous Hair In Seconds With Wonderland Wigs

Long hair, short hair, hair-up, hair down, clip-in extensions, weaves -I have literally had it all! But until recently I had never even considered a certain word.... wig or in nicer terms - a hair piece.
Over the last few months on twitter and on various places online I have seen so many girls trying out and wearing hair pieces- from the gorgeous girls in Geordie Shore to fellow beauty bloggers such as Liza from GlamBeautys.
This made me curious... am I wasting time with the pain and hassle of extensions? How much are they? Would I be able to pull one off?  So when I was contacted recently about trying a hair piece out I jumped at the chance.

Some of you may have seen this photo I put up at the weekend on Instagram and twitter saying "new hair don't care" and I have to say the response was insane.
So many of you and my friends were wanting to know what I had done to my hair - was it a weave? were they bonds? my usual clip-ins? but nope - it is a hair piece!

This is the Layered Flicked 3/4 Wig Hairpiece from Wonderland Wigs in the blonde shade 24/613.
The word wig is bound to freak people out, it did me. But the lovely people over at WW encouraged me to give it a go and see how I liked it... and I love it!
The hair is synthetic but where it is already permanently styled you don't need to worry about using heat or products to style it yourself.
Saying this, this was probably the only thing that scared me a little about trying it. The hair is not real human hair like most extensions I am used too and the only thing that thi menas really is that it does have a little bit of extra shine to it but I honestly don't think it notices that much and I am very particular when it comes to things like this! It is still as soft and nearly as natural as my clip-in extensions that I use now and then.

Now... lets talk about the application. It couldn't be more simple really, just put you put your hair into a low pony tail leaving out two large sections at the front and then grip it upwards onto your head, leaving the back of your head nice and flat.
You then just grip the top slide just in front of the crown of your head and fasten the other underneath your ponytail, it literally couldn't be easier.
After that just style the front to conceal the join where the hair piece starts and you are ready to go!
I have found it works best if I have a quiff, wear a hairband or try and clip both sides back blending my hair and the synthetic hair together. HERE is a YouTube video to help you out a little more with the process.

The colour match for me is perfect, I had to send one back originally as the blonde was just too bright for my hair, but now I have a mixed blonde piece it works perfectly. (Especially with my roots starting to come through!)

This particular piece is only £25.99 - a fraction of the price of extensions nowadays and even though it isn't human hair you get twice as much for your money - thick and fabulous! And because they are so cheap it means you can buy more of them right!?
I cannot stop going through the Wonderland Wigs website and looking at all the other pieces and extensions they have, I need more in my life - such a fantastic, quick and  cheap way of changing your look without any extra damage or effort. I really want to try the  Blonde Dip Dye Extensions (Mixed Blonde/Pale Pink) they look so cool!

I would like to say a special thank you to all the girls at Wonderland Wigs who have all been so lovely and helped me out alot - go and follow them on twitter - @WonderlandWigs.

Have you tried out any wigs or hair pieces? I have been so pleasantly surprised and proud that I went out of my comfort zone and tried something new!

(***Disclaimer : This product was kindly sent to me by the lovely people at Wonderland Wigs. All thoughts, opinions and ideas are always my own and I would never include an item or product on A Yellow Brick Blog that I didn't truly believe in.)

New! Seventeen Stay Pout Lipsticks

I am a lipstick hoarder. It's true, I confess.
My collection just keeps growing and growing and there's not a shade of pink, purple, orange or red that I don't want to try!
So when new lipstick ranges released my first reaction is to try them out and check out all the colours that are available.
This happened recently with Seventeen's new lipstick collection - Stay Pout.
(I would just like to firstly apologise for the quality of my photos for this post, really struggling with taking photos after work nowadays with it getting darker so much earlier, hope you can forgive me!)

I first heard about these whilst flicking through a beauty magazine a while ago and seeing a photo of the colour "Rule Breaker" - now this year I'm all about trying darker shades and venturing out of my comfort zone so I knew that I had to find this gorgeous plumy-red shade and try it out.
So when I saw the collection had been released I headed straight for Rule Breaker and swatched it! It was so pigmented and felt nice and hydrating after just one swatch that I was immediately sold and seeing as they were on offer (3 for £10 on all Seventeen products) I decided to grab another.... 5. I know, I know - issues.
I got a range colours from the dark reddy-purple to a cute baby pink and have been so impressed with them!
They are probably about average in price for a drug-store brand lipstick at £4.49, but like I said at the moment Boots have all Seventeen products 3 for £10 which is a bargain - basically getting one for free!

1. Rule Breaker
2. Infared
3. Date Night
4. Make An Entrance
5. Delinquent
6. Kiss Me Quick
All these colours are fabulous and amazing additions to my ever growing lipstick collection.
I got such a mixture of shades from the dark purple/red of 'Rule Breaker' to the bright orange shade 'Make An Entrance' to the gorgeous baby pink 'Kiss Me Quick' I'm so glad I got such a wide range of colours. And even though shades 2 and 3 look similiar in the swatch there is a big difference in the shade of red which you can see in the previous photo of the lipsticks.
I think my favourite though has to be Delinquent - the gorgeous bright fuschia pink!
All these colours stay on so so well and keep the lips looking and feeling moisturised another great make-up purchase!

Have you tried any of the Stay Pout collection yet? Any colours you fancy trying out?
