With the UK treating us to some warmer weather these past few months my hair has really taken a turn for the worse.
I mean dry, brittle and frizzy - it's never a look a girl wants - especially whilst trying to dodge styling and using heat to encourage growth!
Nothing I was using seemed to be helpful... until one day, whilst flicking through an old magazine, I spotted a random sachet and I decided to give it a go.
This sachet was for a new product from the Garnier Ultimate Blends range - a range which I have been a huge fan of in the past - the Weightless Nourisher Balm!
After using the sachet I was sold and went out straight away and invested in a full sized pot (which was on offer at the time! #winning).
This stuff is an intense conditioning treatment blended with Virgin Olive Oil, and Safflower Seed Oil!
With a creamy but light texture this balm is so nourishing without weighing down the hair at all.
I've become a complete addict. My hair hasn't felt like light, soft and naturally healthy for months and this product has become a firm fixture in my haircare routine, using it a minimum of once a week.
I've been trying to get my hands on the shampoo and conditioner in this range too but it's been sold out everywhere I go where I live at the moment - island struggles!
If your hair is in need of a pick me up and you're on a budget, I cannot recommend this product enough!
That's right ladies - Garnier have bought out a NEW collection in their ever so popular Ultimate Blends range!
I have been a fan of the Ultimate Blends products since they came out last year - another affordable haircare brand that's good on both my hair and my bank balance, yes please!
Seeing the new Honey Treasures collection named "The Strength Restorer" whilst being in the process of changing my hair (involving alot of bleach) seemed like a god send!
There are 4 products in the Honey Treasures range - a shampoo, a conditioner, a 1 minute treatment and a serum. The products were on offer so, of course, I picked up all 4, which actually only came to about £10 - bargain right?
It is said to be for fragile hair, prone to breakage - which is me down to a tee at the moment, healthier and happier hair is my aim!
I have used the Herbal Essences honey based range (Bee Strong) a lot and love the affect it has on my locks so trying out another hair range with honey in it made me super excited!
The shampoo and conditioner smell great! I have used them around 3 or 4 times now and have been pleased with the results.
I'd say the conditioner is quite thin compared to others out there which makes me use alot more of it to feel like I'm covering my hair well - so I can't see it lasting that long, but for the half price price being £1.94, who can complain?
The 1 minute treatment also smells great, I've used it 3 times now and it is more or less gone. I have fairly long hair and when using a hair mask or treatment I like to thoroughly cover my hair root to tip!
This is great for a little pick me up once or twice a week, it leaves my hair soft and shiny and doesn't break the bank balance either!
Lastly the serum. I'm not going to lie I haven't used a hair serum in forever, it's all been about oils for me over the last year or so! I decided to give this a go on it's own - no other products alongside it, to see how it worked in my hair!
I have to say unfortunately the ends of my hair didn't feel half as soft as when I use the sleek perfector oil from Ultimate Blends (which I'm obsessed with.... I love the scent), so I will be using this serum with that instead of on it's own as it DID make really shiny!
Overall I do really like the range, they smell great and make my hair really shiny and mangeable - BUT I think I do still prefer 'The Sleek Restorer' collection!
There's nothing that gets me more excited than new products! When I see adverts and sneak peeks of new beauty stuff about the hit the shops and web 9 times out of 10 it instantly goes straight to the top of my wishlist!
This month I've been seeing and hearing about ALOT of new things that are either about to be released or have just been released!
Here are my 10 most wanted!
Barry M Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit
Now annoyingly enough there isn't any stock images of this online yet but I have seen a few blog posts on it already! (Really Ree has a lovely one)! I love contouring kits, my sleek one is definitely the best high street branded kit I have found so far so I'm looking forward to trying out something along the same price range!
Make-Up Revolution Brushes
This brand is awesome, their bargain prices and amazing quality has me going back to them time and time again! And now they have released make-up brushes!!! The prices are tiny compared to every other brush out there and if they are anything like the other products they have, these are going to be a major hit!
Taylor Swift Incredible Things Perfume
YAY!! My favourite lady is releasing another perfume! Yes, I'm one of those fans who would buy it before even smelling it! I've liked everything she's released so far though so I'm sure I'll like this one too! I love the name too, Blank Space is one of my fav songs from 1989!
Benefit Roller Lash Mascara A mascara made for short, stumpy lashes? Apparently so! My lashes are total cr*p and I've tried sooooo many mascara over the years - I'm sure it won't long til' this newbie from Benefit is in my make-up bag being tested!
Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer Primers are something I love trying out! Other products, like foundation, I know what I like and I stick to them, but with primers even though I have my favs I'm always up for trying new ones! Rimmel is probably my favourite high street brand and I'm always intrigued by their new releases, I like their other primer (forgive me I've forgotten the name) so I think I'll be giving this a go!
Ultimate Blends Honey Treasures Collection Again, this is so new that I can't seem to find a damn photo of the stuff! As far as I know it will be available from tomorrow (Wed 21st Jan) - I've seen it already and it all looks fab! A honey infused shampoo, conditioner, treatment and serum all priced under £5 - amazing right? The Ultimate Blends collections from Garnier have gone down a storm since they were released and I bet this one is another best seller!
Revlon Photoready Anti-Shine Balm Revlon is a brand that I will hold my hands up and say I don't own alot of. That is noway a reflection on how I feel about them, as I actually really do like their products! This stuff looks awesome - I'm always paranoid that I'm as shiny as a disco ball and this priming product sounds like the perfect cure.
Jimmy Choo Blossom Perfume New perfumes excite me! This sounds like it's going to be a gorgeous fresh spring scent from Jimmy and I cannot wait to get a tester.
Aussie Body Wash Ummmmm, yes that's right Aussie have bought out body washes!!! For all of us that love Aussie's haircare and have been using it for years the day has finally arrived where the rest of our bodies can also smell amazing! You should be able to see these in stores now!
Mac Cinderella Collection Last but not least this is the stuff I am obviously most excited about! Mac + Disney = I need this in my life! For once the collection doesn't look totally unwearble - sometimes I love the idea of investing in some mac limited edition bits but then realise I'd probably never actually use them! These products look right up my street - pretty pinks and neutrals, I'm praying I can get my hands on it all!

Well, this was a total and utter bargain! I got the gift set of this fragrance from Boots after Christmas and it was only £11.75! I bought it online without even smelling it, which, yes, was a little risky but for that price I was willing to take the risk! I LOVE scent and have been using it every single day.... very tempted to try and get another one of those gift sets!
Friends
I've always loved Friends, it's one of those shows that I can just put on whatever time and whatever mood I'm in. Over Christmas I have been watching so much of it and my love for those 6 guys has been totally rekindled! Ross, of course, is still my ultimate favourite!
Peppermint Tea
After the junk and over-eating that Christmas and New Year bought into my life I have been making sure that every evening I have had a mug of this stuff! It really does help me feel less bloated and meh! It's good stuff give it a go!
Dyson Animal
This was my main present from my parents this year for Christmas. For over a year now my Boyfriend and I have been using his work Henry Hoover for our home but it was such a pain having to go and get it out the can out the time. Now, at first I thought - a hoover for Christmas... man that is such a grown up boring present... oh how I was wrong! I bloody love this thing! It is AMAZING! I've been using it with my favourite perfumes aswell to make my home smell amazing!
Heads Up
If you haven't played this game yet, go and download it! I had of course seen this on Ellen and when I found out that it was available for iPhone I quickly headed to the app store and forked out the reasonable 69p for it! My friends and I had a blast playing this on NYE, it is hilarious PLUS it films it all for you so you can play it back and laugh at everyone all over again!
Uggs
About 2 months ago I sadly said goodbye to my trusty Ugg boots that I had had for the past 6 or so years! After about a week I realised how much I relied on them as a quick and easy shoe to chuck on when popping out or chilling at a friends house! My boyfriend also realised this and the cheeky little bugger bought me a brand new pair for Christmas! I got the same again, the classic short Chestnut, and I LOVE them! Sorry if you're an Ugg hater but, for me, these boots rock.
Ultimate Blends - The Sleek Restorer Shampoo & Conditioner
You may have seen in my last TWIL post that I mentioned the hair oil from this collection! After trying out a different shampoo from the Ultimate Blends and hating it I decided that The Sleek Restorer duo were definitely the ones for me, so while they were on offer I snapped them up! I'm nearly out of them now (and I got some new hair bits for Christmas to try) but they have returned my hair to a much better state and also kept it smelling amazing!
Yankee Candle Christmas Cookie
SMELLS.SO.GOOD. Even when not burnt I can smell this thing and I love it!
What are you loving this week?

Since my Morrocanoil has run out and I'm way too poor to buy anymore I have been using this hair oil alot more. I bought this originally as I saw Gabby (VelvetGh0st) raving about it in one of her favourites videos! I love this stuff, it smells amazing, keeps my ends feeling soft and decreases frizzyness in my crazy mane!
Liz Earle Skin Tonic
I use this stuff every morning and every evening and without it I feel lost! I definitely rely on this tonic to keep my skin feeling fresh and clean! It is the perfect product post make-up removal and I haven't yet found anything like it that works as well.
Glow In The Dark Disney Sweater
I got this in Florida back in September and I love it so much. I love getting home after work in the winter and cosying up in a sweater and pj bottoms! I have been wearing this and my Planet Hollywood sweater constatnly, they are so warm and comfortable!
Horrible Bosses 2
My friend Megan & I went and saw this last week and we literally laughed from start to finish. At some point I remember putting my hand over my mouth as I was being so so loud..... luckily there was only about 4 other people in the screen with us! A great sequel.... and Jennifer Aniston is still as hot as ever!
ANTM - Cycles 19 & 20
Finding America's Next To Model on a certain forgein Netflix was both a blessing and a curse. I have been obsessed with this show ever since it started but I had missed the last couple of cycles. So when I spotted it on there I knew that the rest of my week was occupied. I'm as hooked as ever, I love Tyra so much.
The Library Of Fragrance - Christmas In New York
You may have already seen my review of this but I had to include it in this post! I love Christmas and this scent makes me feel so jolly! To read more about it click here to see my review.
Farley's Rusks
Okay.... random purchase alert! I decided to pick these up last week when I saw they were on offer, I remember them being so yummy when I was a kid and I thought they'd be better for me than the million biscuits I decided to eat weekly! They are still so yummy but... don't dunk them in your tea - they aren't strong enough to cope with it!
Fifth Harmony - Bo$$
I loved these girls on The X Factor USA and was so pleased to see them on the UK show last week! This song is awesome, I've had it on repeat along with their song Sledgehammer all week - they remind me of a mini Pussycat Dolls, which is definitely a band that we need right now!
What are your thoughts on this new post series 'This Week I'm Loving...'? It may not be every week but I find it fun to share other things I'm enjoying not just products and beauty tips and tricks!

My monthly favourite's are here again! It's my second May favourites - can you believe it? It feels like yesterday I was writing all about my loves for May 2013 and here we are 1 year later and I'm sat here doing exactly the same thing! So here they are - those things I've been obsessing over for the past month! (no make-up this month... which feels seriously weird!)
Garnier Ultimate Blends The Sleek Restorer Collection If you have't heard of the new ultimate blends range from Garnier - then you've probably been chilling on the moon or something because I'm sure everyone more or less everyone have been trying them out! I picked up the shampoo and conditioner for 2 reasons - 1. they were half price and 2. they smell amazing! I am all about smells and if I think something smells good - I will buy it. These products were working so well on my hair that I picked up the 1 minute treatment aswell! They leave my hair looking smoother and smelling amazing - plus they were a bargain! I've gone through a bottle of each now so it's time to invest in some more - I may try out some of the different collections too!
Monthly Mags - Cosmo, Company, Elle & Glamour Yes... I may have gone a little overboard with mags this month - 4 is definitely a bit unnecessary .... but there were so many great freebies I couldn't say no! I love being able to sit down at home or at work and flick through a good mag and these this month have been amazing! Not only did I get some great free gifts including Benefit's porefessional, but there were lots of a great articles, lots of looks I want to steal and lots of clothes I need to buy! No7 Hot Cloth Cleanser After running out of my Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish (one of my holy grail products) this month and being a bit strapped for cash I decided to give this baby a go. I've had this sat around for a while - I bought it with a No7 voucher a couple of months ago because it bought it down to half the usual price (barry bargain) - and thought now was a good a time as ever to give it a whirl! I wasn't expecting it to be as good as my beloved cleanse and polish but this stuff gave me a pleasant surprise! It took off my make-up just as well as my C&P, felt light and creamy and have a nice smell about it. The only thing that wasn't great was the muslin cloth along side it - it wasn't as soft and gentle as the nice Liz Earle ones but still worked a charm! I have been using this every night now and still have so much of the 200ml product left - it is definitely going to last a good while!
Nivea Soft 75ml Tube This product has been a god send to me. I use it daily and have rambled on about it for the past year! I normally buy a big tub of this stuff but that isn't always that handy ..... so hello to this cute little 75ml tube! This is perfect for my handbag and keeping next to my bedside table! I use this every night before I go to sleep and it works so well for my skin! I've tried so many night creams recently and they all seem to bring me out in spots (which is not like my skin at all) I love the scent and can't imagine anything taking this stuff's place anytime soon! Superdrug have these at half price at the moment too so they are only £1.24!!
Iggy Azalea - The New Classic Album Jesus, I had been waiting for this album for what seemed like forever! About a year ago I first heard Iggy's song 'Work' - and since then I have been praising and bowing down to this woman! This album has been on repeat this whole month and I love love love it! Favourite songs have to be Work, Black Widow, F*** Love & Fancy. AND obviously I am obsessed with Problem by Ariana Grande & Iggy - two of my favourite artists ever - best song of the year! It's been a good while since one of these has appeared on A Yellow Brick Blog - mainly because I have been saving my money/have no money.
BUT I have cheeky little one to share with you all today and most of this stuff I purchased with my Boots advantage card points and more or less all of them were total bargains(my fav!) - I think only 1 item cost me more than £3 - so all is good!
Haircare
Garnier Ultimate Blends The Sleek Restorer Shampoo & Conditioner Newbies out on he shelves of the UK, I have been eyeing these up since the day they were released. Mainly because of the scents - I am obsessed with just smelling everything when mooching round Boots, does anyone else do this? I saw the larger bottles of these were half price so only £1.94 each so of course picked up this duo - with coconut oil and cocoa butter surely this can't be bad!
Frizz-Ease Overnight Repair Formula This was £1.75..... yes I kid you not! Under £2 for a full-sized John Frieda overnight treatment - hell yes. Love a good clearance bargain and I got a few in this trip! I'm looking forward to trying this out especially with the weather getting a little warmer - more frizz is bound to try and creep it's way into my life and I'm just not having it!
Lee Stafford Mini Poker Straight Treatment
50p!!!! Fifty British piece for this mini treatment tube! What a steal! I'm going to save this for before a big night out when I want straight glossy soft locks!
V05 Smoothly Does It Straightening Lotion Now this was actually quite a random purchase - I had to get my boyfriend's hair stuff which is by VO5 and I noticed their styling products were 2 for £5! His stuff was about £3.20 ... so clearly I had to get myself something if it was just going to cost me an extra £1.80! This is what I found - it looks fab and is £6.29 on its own so to get this along with the boyf's hair wax for just £5 - bargain city! Really looking forward to trying this out!
L'oreal Elvive Fibrology Hair Mask
Bought it. Tried it. LOVE it. This made my hair feel amazing - I could run my fingers through my hair straight after the shower - whereas normally I'm there with my moroccanoil and tangle teezer trying to get rid of all the knots and craziness! It was half price at £2.54 and think I may invest in another to keep me going!
Skincare
Boots Essentials Cucumber Eye Gel
After recently trying out the face mask from this brand I set out on a mission to find another product to try! This like the mask was only 99p on offer and after reading so many rave reviews I couldn't resist! Bring on de-puffed eyes and hopefully smaller bags!
Nivea Soft Cream 200ml This stuff is a god send and lasts for months and months - I swear the last one I bought was last summer and I haven't even finished it yet! Saying that it is near the end and this had about 1/3 off and had a cute limited edition packaging so grabbed it while I could! This is a lovely moisturiser I use for more or less anything and I love the smell of Nivea products!
Montagne Creamy Coconut Face Mask Sachet
This sachet was only 66p so thought I would grab it for the night time I decide to give myself a bit of a pampering. I love the smell of coconut and heard this works so well at hydrating the skin so can't wait to give it a whirl!
Boots Double Faced Cotton Wool Pads Can't live without these badboys. I don't know how anyone can use small thin cotton pads - I have to have these thick huge double sided ones! I use these mainly for my Liz Earle Skin Tonic which I use twice a day - my routine is incomplete without it! This are also great for removing nail polish - just one pad can do nearly all my fingers!
Lips
Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon - 04 Peach On The Beach
This is a product I have been eyeing up for months and months and months - ever since they were announced really! I have seen so many people wearing it, talking about it, blogging about it and so when I spotted it the other day I knew it was about time I bought it (and it was with my Boots points so didn't feel like I was splashing out on an unnecessary item!) This colour is gorgeous and I love the finish of these lip crayons - I can tell this is going to be one of my most worn of Spring/Summer this year and I am now itching to buy the rest of the collection!
Burt's Bees Revitaliing Lipbalm with Blueberry & Dark Chocolate My addiction to buying lip balms seems to be never ending! This was also a clearance item so for only £1.85 I couldn't just walk past without adding it to my basket of goodies! This smell so yummy and is a great lip balm! Burt's Bees are a brand I really want to try more of so if you have any recommendations let me know! So there we have it - a little Boots haul for you all! Any products in there that you own/have tried? Have you bought anything from Boots lately? Bloglovin | GFC|Twitter | Facebook | Instagram | Pinterest | Tumblr
