ClipHair Deluxe Double Wefted Clip In Extensions

Hair. Something which for me, changes all the time.
I have always been one for change - whether it's the colour, the length, or my day-to-day style - I love mixing it up as I tend to get bored really easily!
Extensions are something that I've used for years and after being through my fair share of sets, I'd like to think I'm pretty knowledgeable in the department.... sort of!

So when Cliphair contacted me recently and asked if I wanted to try out their Double Wefted clip-ins I jumped at the chance to test them out! New hair will make anyone happy right?

The set I have here is the Cliphair Deluxe Double Wefted 20" Full Head Clip-In Hair Extensions in shade #60 (Lightest Blonde).

Double wefted extensions are something I've always been interested in, all my other sets I've had in the past (apart form Dirtylooks) have been quite thin and didn't make my hair that much thicker, only longer!
I own a quad weft which I totally adore and wear all the time but that's only one piece, so a full head set of double weft are bound to give my hair the thickness I've been after.

Set Contents:
Two 8 inch (20cm) wide wefts - 3 clips per weft
Two 6 inch (15cm) wide wefts - 3 clips per weft
Two 4 inch (10cm) wide wefts - 2 clips per weft
Two 2 inch (5cm) wide wefts - 1 clip per weft

Double wefted means that two wefts have been sewn together to create a thicker piece, therefore making the whole set twice as thick as the standard.
The clips are already attached so there's none of that to worry about and they are seriously secure, probably the tightest I've owned, so they won't be going anywhere!

I found these really easy to put in and even if you are a total extensions beginner you will have full, thick hair in minutes with ease!

Here's a few styles I've been trying out with my new set.
These are perfect if you're hair is getting long but looks a bit thin or even if you are just trying to gain a bit of length!
I can really a notice with the double weft and the quality is fantastic - I was particularly impressed with how soft these felt, even after styling and brushes and spraying they were still seriously soft... alot nicer than my real hair!

This set is priced at £74.99, which I think is a great price - these will last for ages and you can do so much with them! Thank you Cliphair I can't wait to glam myself up and put these in!

POTW #28 : Remington Silk Waving Wand

A few months ago now I was lucky enough to win a fabulous Blog competition that the lovely Ellie was running over on her blog Ellie's Ramblings! (I love this girl!)
What I won was a Remington Silk Waving Wand and finally after weeks and weeks of it sitting in it's pretty box I have got the play with it!
As I've been trying to grow my hair for the past couple of years I'm not one to use heat on it regularly and things like curling and styling my hair I only do when I'm going out somewhere and occasionally on my days off!
Last week I went to a wedding reception so I thought it was the perfect time to get my extensions in and try it out!

I love waving wands, I own the babyliss one aswell and love the results they give! This red little beauty comes with a heat reisitant glove and a heat resisitant storage pouch too! (although I'm normally too lazy to use gloves, I just risk it.... I know - I'm a total adrenaline junkie aren't I!)

I love the digital display and the fact you can change the temperature settings for it- I never like to have it on the highest heat (which on here is 220c), it's pointless or me, my hair will stay put even at a lower setting, plus it's less damaging.
To do my whole head (with my extensions in... which is alot of hair) it probably only took me around 20 minutes or so and that was with alot of sections! The barrell itself feels smooth, alot smoother on my hair than my babyliss one. It's easy to use, I just grab a section of hair about 2/3inches wide , hold the wand upsidedown and wrap the hair around it away from my face! Easy peasy lemon squeazy!

Here's a picture of the results!
I'm looking forward to using this with just my natural hair too, I sometimes get bored of wearing extensions everytime I go out!
Have any of you tried out a waving wand?

Dirty Looks HK Full Head Hair Extensions - Paparazzi Highlights Review

I am a huge extensions lover. I have worn them for years and years and weather my hair has been blonde, brunette or even red I've always had a set of clip-ins to go with! (apart from that time I had a bob obviously!)
Now my hair has finally grown back out to a decent enough length I am back on the extensions train and loving it (I missed them in my life!)
I've always just bought a bog standard set of clip-ins, nothing overly special and never spending more than £50.
Until now I've just plodded along with these with knowing I should invest in a better set!
And better is where these beauties from Dirty Looks come in!
Dirty Looks are a fab brand who specialise in clip-in extensions! Their full heads are loved and worn by many and when I got the chance to try them out I was over the moon!
I've always looked at buying a better, thicker and heavier set of extensions, but for some reason I always seemed to need money for other things (which sucked!)
Extensions make me feel a whole lot better about myself and like a pair of fake eyelashes, a glam night out is not complete without them!
These are the HK Full Head Extensions in the shade Paparazzi Highlights. First up - the packaging is so cute! A lovely purple storage box which is so nice compared to other brands I have tried out, normally it's just some plastic packaging - nothing you can keep, so this was a pleasant surprise and confirmed my thoughts that these were going to be better quality than anything I've used before.

The second thing that really stuck out to me was the separate pouch in the internal packaging which contained just a single weft. This is for you to take out to test and check that you like the shade and it matches your colour okay and that the length is good for you.
I think this is a genius idea!
All extension companies need to do this - such an easy way to test out the shade properly without tampering with the whole set - high five whoever thought of this!
As soon as I had tested and seen that the shade was perfect for me I quickly opened up the main pocket and checked out the beauties.
These extensions are so much thicker and heavier than any that I have used before, they are 20-22" set which weigh around 180g and are made with gorgeous Remy human hair.
Something I had been really looking forward to trying was the quad weft which is 4 wefts sewn onto a flat mesh which is just fabulous, such great quality and saves alot of unnecessary clips to get the same naturally thick look!
The set consists of 10 pieces which I have shown and listed in the photo below.
I couldn't wait to get them in and transform my looks and although I am pretty much an expert at putting in extensions after all these years I saw their personal guide and thought - another great idea!
If you are an extensions newbie or just not that great at the whole application bit then this is for you!
All the pieces are numbered (the tiny white tags attached) and in the booklet you receive comes a super helpful diagram of which pieces to fit where!
Obviously you don't have to follow this down to the strand as everyone is different, just do what's best for you! But it is a great, rough guide as to how to fit the extensions well.

So easy to apply and a great overall look, I am obsessed.
It is so nice to have extensions that stay thick all the way to the ends - previously I've had to deal with hair that seems to thin on the way down!
You can really tell that these are of a higher quality not by just the way they look but the way they feel aswell - by far the softest hair I've ever worked with.
For the full head set they are only £69.99 at the moment - normally £87.49, there are so many different shades to choose from aswell and if you aren't sure about which one to go for (like I was) then just e-mail a photo of yourself over to the girls and boys at Dirty Looks and I am sure they will happily match you!
I am SO impressed with these extensions from Dirty Looks and there is noway I could go back to another brand now! I've had so many compliments from friends in both real life and on photos I've uploaded!
So far I've only worn these straight but I can't wait to have a go at styling them - curls, waves, up, plaits - I am going to be wearing these alot!
These beauties are totally worth every penny in my blonde haired opinion - £69.99 isn't that much more than I was paying before and I think there is probably double the amount of hair than my previous set, I feel silly for ever buying cheap ones!

Denman D80 Nylon Bristle Grooming Hairbrush

My hair is something I like to look after, and not only the hair on my head but my extensions, hair pieces and everything else I like to clip onto my head too!
There's no point having extensions and things if you aren't going to look after them. You need to look after extensions, hair pieces and wigs just like you would your own hair, so keeping them untangled is the number one rule in my book.
Recently Denman approached me after seeing that I wore extensions and saw my post about the 3/4 wig I had been wearing from Wonderland Wigs. They thought that this brush would be perfect for me - and they weren't wrong!
This is the D80 Nylon Bristle Grooming Hairbrush and it comes in 3 different sizes - Small, Medium & Large.
Small - £6.78
Medium - £8.87
Large - £10.96
The brush I have is the medium (D80M) and it is a great size for me! This brush is made specifically for smoothing, detangling and grooming - all things that are essential in keeping our hair and our "extra" hair looking fit and fabulous.
If you have or have had extensions or hair pieces you know how easy it is for them to get tangled and messy - which is not the easiest thing to sort without ripping half the hair out! This brush is the ideal tool for this.
It has super gentle bristles which makes it really easy to brush through the hair without ripping or straining it. Aswell as this the brush has a lightweight and perfectly balanced handle which  helps with the grip and control whilst in use, making it easy as pie! (...yum....pie.)
They are so soft I have even been using it on my own hair.
If you have read my blog before or seen my post about my haircare routine then you probably know that for the last 3 years or so I have only use tangle teezers.
This has been the first hair brush I have used since then and liked. It feels just as soft and gentle as a tangle teezer - and leaves my hair feeling smooth, soft and thick - I'm really really happy with it. Thank you Denman!

What do you do to ensure your extensions and things stay in perfect condition? Any top tips?

Fabulous Hair In Seconds With Wonderland Wigs

Long hair, short hair, hair-up, hair down, clip-in extensions, weaves -I have literally had it all! But until recently I had never even considered a certain word.... wig or in nicer terms - a hair piece.
Over the last few months on twitter and on various places online I have seen so many girls trying out and wearing hair pieces- from the gorgeous girls in Geordie Shore to fellow beauty bloggers such as Liza from GlamBeautys.
This made me curious... am I wasting time with the pain and hassle of extensions? How much are they? Would I be able to pull one off?  So when I was contacted recently about trying a hair piece out I jumped at the chance.

Some of you may have seen this photo I put up at the weekend on Instagram and twitter saying "new hair don't care" and I have to say the response was insane.
So many of you and my friends were wanting to know what I had done to my hair - was it a weave? were they bonds? my usual clip-ins? but nope - it is a hair piece!

This is the Layered Flicked 3/4 Wig Hairpiece from Wonderland Wigs in the blonde shade 24/613.
The word wig is bound to freak people out, it did me. But the lovely people over at WW encouraged me to give it a go and see how I liked it... and I love it!
The hair is synthetic but where it is already permanently styled you don't need to worry about using heat or products to style it yourself.
Saying this, this was probably the only thing that scared me a little about trying it. The hair is not real human hair like most extensions I am used too and the only thing that thi menas really is that it does have a little bit of extra shine to it but I honestly don't think it notices that much and I am very particular when it comes to things like this! It is still as soft and nearly as natural as my clip-in extensions that I use now and then.

Now... lets talk about the application. It couldn't be more simple really, just put you put your hair into a low pony tail leaving out two large sections at the front and then grip it upwards onto your head, leaving the back of your head nice and flat.
You then just grip the top slide just in front of the crown of your head and fasten the other underneath your ponytail, it literally couldn't be easier.
After that just style the front to conceal the join where the hair piece starts and you are ready to go!
I have found it works best if I have a quiff, wear a hairband or try and clip both sides back blending my hair and the synthetic hair together. HERE is a YouTube video to help you out a little more with the process.

The colour match for me is perfect, I had to send one back originally as the blonde was just too bright for my hair, but now I have a mixed blonde piece it works perfectly. (Especially with my roots starting to come through!)

This particular piece is only £25.99 - a fraction of the price of extensions nowadays and even though it isn't human hair you get twice as much for your money - thick and fabulous! And because they are so cheap it means you can buy more of them right!?
I cannot stop going through the Wonderland Wigs website and looking at all the other pieces and extensions they have, I need more in my life - such a fantastic, quick and  cheap way of changing your look without any extra damage or effort. I really want to try the  Blonde Dip Dye Extensions (Mixed Blonde/Pale Pink) they look so cool!

I would like to say a special thank you to all the girls at Wonderland Wigs who have all been so lovely and helped me out alot - go and follow them on twitter - @WonderlandWigs.

Have you tried out any wigs or hair pieces? I have been so pleasantly surprised and proud that I went out of my comfort zone and tried something new!
