Lush Christmas Sugar Plum Fairy Lip Scrub

Tick tock, tick tock.... Christmas is coming!
So, of course... my eyes are currently drawn to anything Christmas related, Christmas scented or Christmas themed.... look - I just like Christmas okay!
Now I'm going to start off by break all the blogging rules right now - brace yourselves....
I haven't really tried out many of  Lush products  - there I said it... I'm sorry beauty blogging world!

I bought the Bubblegum lip scrub last year and fell in LOVE but that's pretty much it.... so as soon as I saw that there were Christmas edition scrubs out I was in there like swimwear!
I struggled to choose between the two festive newbies but in the end went for Sugar Plum Fairy, that pretty little pot you can see above!
Lip scrubs are THE perfect product for winter. Every year I seem to attract get dry, sore and flaky lips... #eww #turnoff - so having a scrub has become a vital part of my beauty routine!
With this I just pop a bit on my finger and rub it in circular motions around my lips, before removing it with a tissue or cotton pad, you can lick it off but I'm not a fan of doing that! (Sometimes I even just rub my lips together with it on... it's as easy as that!)
This makes the lips smoother and gets rid of any nasty unwanted dead skin - this also helps to create the perfect base for your lip products.... which, if you're using a matte lip is essential!

The scent to the Sugar Plum Fairy lip scrub is super sweet (my favourite kinda product) and fruity - so yummy!
I highly recommend the lip scrubs from Lush, I LOVE that they keep adding new flavours too try out!

Let me know your top picks from Lush, I feel like I NEED to explore the world of fresh handmade cosmetics a little more!

Beat The Winter Lip Blues

I don't know about you but the winter plays serious havoc with my lips.

Dry, sore, flaky - pretty much a gross look for any lady right?!
With the wind and cold outside and the heating inside my lips tend to become a real pain in the butt and I do everything in my power to avoid that dreading 'trip-lip' ..... you know... when your lips get all sore and red, like so red above them that it looks like another lip. I mean I haven't had that since I was a child but it's a fear of mine!

This little duo have been a god send and won't be leaving my side until spring is here!

First the Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub, which I have mentioned many a time here on A Yellow Brick Blog. This is the perfect product for keeping my lips healthy, soft and flake free.
The yummy smelling (and tasting) sugar scrub is easy to use, I just pop a bit on my fingers and rub it in circles across my lips or rub my lips together to help get rid of all that nasty dead skin. This creates the perfect base for all my lippys!

Next - to battle those sore lips. The new Blistex Intensive Moisturiser in Cherry*.
Blistex are one of my go-to brands when it comes to lip therapy products and this new addition to their collection is actually the best I've tried from them.
The new cherry flavoured intensive balm brings a bit of fun to the otherwise simple looking original. The smooth clear gel balm isn't sticky at all, it soaks into the lips with ease leaving them soft and seriously hydrarting for hours on end - all with a lovely cherry scent. (It reminds me of cherry drops/cherryade and takes me straight back to being 12 years old!)

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub Review

There are some products out there that I umm and ahhh about buying for months on end. I then buy them and wonder why I waited so long to add it to my ever-growing collection.
This is one of those products.

I have wanted a lip scrub for pretty much forever now and Lush had always been on top of my list of the ones to try. To be honest I used to look at it everytime I popped into Lush but hadn't bought it until I went to London last week when I realised enough was enough and it about bloomin' time I invested in it.

Being a huge sweet lover there was no doubt in my choice of Bubblegum from the range of lip scrubs available.
This smells SO good - if you are a sweet-toothed fiend like me you will probably just want to eat the pot!
Made with caster sugar and jojoba oil this scrub helps to exfoliate and soften the lips to help ensure a perfectly smooth base for all your favourite lip products!
I pretty much have dry lips all year round, flaky skin and general grossness does NOT look good when doing my make-up each day, so this has been welcomed into my morning routine with open arms!

With my finger I rub a small bit of the scrub onto my lips and buff away all those dead skin cells to reveal soft and moistured lips. (Plus it's safe to eat so you can lick it off ..... although I don't - not good for the teeth ya know!)

This has totally changed my lips and I'm SO happy for my new soft and polished smile, I've been using it every single day and it doesn't even look like I've used any - this is going to last for months and months!

The scrub is £5.50 and you can check it out - here

Beauty Wishlist : March

Nip + Fab Glycolic Instant Fix Mask
Well... if it's good enough for Kylie Jenner is totes good enough for me! I'ma  big fan of Nip + Fab and have loved everything I've tried from them before and the sound of this sounds right up my street!

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub
I have wanted to buy a lip scrub for so long and this has been on the top of my list. The last few weeks my lips have been dry, chapped, flaky - totally gross, so this would be a fab little treat....if only I lived near a Lush store!

Rimmel Lasting Fix Concealer
NEW new new product alert! I love Rimmel and get so excited for new releases from them.... and this little beaut is one of the things this spring that I am looking forward to trying most! Cream concealers are slowly becoming my fav kind of concealers so I'm hoping this is a winner.

MAC Lipliner - Beet
For months now I have been using an old elf lipliner with my Rebel lipstick - and yeah it's okay but it's not the best. Beet is meant to be the best lipliner to use with Rebel so I think it's about time I invested in it.

MAC Lipstick - Brave
Over the last couple of months I have bought THREE new MAC lipsticks.... this is not like me at all - naughty Kirstie! My wishlist of lipsticks is never-ending and this is top of it at the moment! I'm loving nudes and all the photos I've seen of this just look gorgeous.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Beauty Trio
My holy grail of all skincare is Cleanse and Polish and the amazing people at Liz Earle are celebrating their 20th birthday with this beauty trio! 3 different C&P's in a lovely collectable tin - I need this in my life.

ghd V Gold Styler
My ghd's are officially 11 years old.... so it about bloomin' time I got some newbies! These are top of my wishlist of things at the moment - they are so much prettier than my beat up old things!

Make-Up Revolution Salvation Intense Lip Lacquer - Depravity
How stunning is this colour! It's sold out at the moment but I'm determined to get my mitts on it for summer!

Thierry Mugler Alien Perfume
After spraying this recently I have become obsessed. I love this so much .... one of my besties wears it but I think I may have treat myself to some on payday - perfect glam scent!
