Partylite's Spring Selection

Oooo I'm a sucker for a candle... well, really I'm a sucker for anything that smells good - espically for the home.
I can't stand the thought of my home smelling and love the way candles fill the whole place with yummy scents and the feeling of calm.

Partylite were first introduced to me last year and although I thought they were something new on the block my Mum recently informed me that she used to have Partylite candles back in the day - I was totally unaware that they had been going for so long!
The lovely team have scent me over (haha get it? scent... wow, I'm not funny am I?) a fabulous ray of new springtime products to try out at home and I have been loving them.

I think people believe nowadays direct selling is a thing of the past but with brands like Partylite, MyShowcase and Tropic only getting bigger, I really don't think that is the case!
Now lets have a look at these smelly products eh?
Butterfly Porcelain Tealight Holders & Wild Lemongrass Tealight*
How pretty are these?
If you're looking to switch your homewares and accessories over to the Spring/Summer side these little bits are a great place to start. With a gorgeous butterfly designs they make perfect finishing touches to any room - or a great present!
With them I have been using the Wild Lemongrass tealights which I was sent alongside them. These smell so fresh and zesty, I'm obsessed - I've even been popping them in my airing cupboard just to keep it smelling clean and fresh.
Glolite Candle & Smartscents Sticks with Flower Holder*
That big old candle in the backdrop is one of Partylite's Glolite candles - the world's brightest candle. Now.... I normally burn candles through the day, it's not often that I have them going whilst all the lights are off in the evening so I am yet to see this in action - although now I'm writing this I'm thinking maybe I'll check it out tonight!
The scent with this on is Berry Blossom, and this is actually the second candle I've had with this scent - luckily I LOVE it! I have had this lit in my bedroom and within about 10 minutes you can smell it around my whole flat which is exactly what I want from a candle! Top marks there! It has 2 wicks but it is a large cadle so I think it will last me a long, long while!

Smartscents are the first scent stick I have used. You may wonder why I've only got one popped into the cute little flower holder.... the reason being - they are so strong (I have the Peony scented ones)! The perfect way to keep a lovely smelling home without that risky fire! I've even popped one of these into my wardrobe. (I hate that horrible stale smell wardrobes can get, I do anything I can to avoid it!)

So there is my quick round-up of some of the Spring offerings from Partylite this year - there's so much more on the website too - check it all out here.

POTW #24 : Flamingo Candles Macaroon & Almond High Tea Classic Jar

I'm all about smells. Give me a good smelling product or thing and I'm sold. So of course I'm a crazy woman when it comes to candles! I love love love them!
Recently the lovely people at Flamingo Candles (cute name alert!) asked if I wanted to try out one of their new High Tea candles - a celebration of the great British teatime tradition. (who doesn't love teatime?!)
So this just HAS to be my POTW as I have been burning it constantly!
Quick note - my lighting inside is so rubbish hence the reason why the photos are taken outside .... I don't usually randomly burn candles outside! (obviously)!
Flamingo Candles are handmade, organic candles made with natural cotton wicks and soybeans and are all hand-poured. Snazzy huh?! I like knowing how the candles have been made - seeing this it feels like alot of love goes into making every individual candle.
First, lets talk about this packaging - SO cute. I love the 3D flamingo and the gorgeous 'shabby chic' colouring. It's a total blogger perfect candle visually don't you think?

The scent I have is Macaroon & Almond and it is a beaut! If you like the smell of marzipan then THIS is for you. Luckily for me I love it, it reminds me of Christmas cake - yummy. I could eat marzipan by the strip... am I a freak?
It is really sugary and with hints of cherry and coconut it is perfect for the summer - this has been making my flat smell beautiful!
Now this isn't the strongest smelling candle I've had when it's burning , it does take a while before the scent starts to linger around unlike a couple of other candles I have which give out a fab smell in just a couple of minutes.

It might look small but it has a burning time of 50 hours! I am officially hooked on the unqiue scents and cute packaging and cannot wait for payday, as these candles are only £12 I think Flamingo Candles is going to be getting a visit from a certain blonde blogger *cough*me*cough*!
My current wishlist : Lemon Curd, Green Tea & Lemon, Cheesecake Crunch, Pink Lemonade, Pear Drops & Coconut Lemongrass (not alot then?)

Have you tried any candles from FC yet? Let me know your favourites or scents you would love to try out!

Yves Rocher L'Eau Moment de Bonheur Fragrance Review

Summer is here! *looks out window*..... okay summer is nearly here!
And with summer sunshine and heat I always struggle to find a perfume that doesn't feel thick and heavy on my skin!
Say hello to Yves Rocher, a french brand which seems to do everything, and their lovely EDT fragrance - L'Eau Moment de Bonheur.
This is a brand that I had heard of previously but never actually tried anything from! French brands seem to be all rage at the moment don't they!
Anyway, I was approached to try out this snazzy 50ml scent out and try I did!

Like I said before when the weather is hot and humid the last thing I want is to  wear a heavy, thick fragrance on my skin. I don't know weather this is just me?
This EDT is said to be a "breath of springtime" it's a lovely fresh, fruity scent with hints of rose and sweet apple.

It comes in a lovely simple bottle (which actually reminds me alot of Liz Earle's perfume bottles) and I love that the product is green - giving it a bright, unique look on my shelf without having a crazy bottle!
I've mentioned before that I love sweet scents and this is so nice as an everyday smell. I wouldn't wear this out in the evening or for a night out as, personally, I don't think it's strong enough for that.

I've been wearing this everyday too work and have been really enjoying it. It's so light and airy it would be perfect for a summers day, holiday abroad or a trip to the beach as it doesn't feel clammy or sticky on the skin!

Now this is only an eau de toilette which means the scent doesn't last as long as an eau de parfum as it is slightly weaker. This means you do have to reapply a few times a day which is it's only downfall - I'd like it to last longer.
The price of this 50ml bottle is £38, a tad more expensive than I would usually pay for just an edt but I've found this is a perfect smell for me for summertime and I love love love it.

Looking forward to trying out some more stuff from this brand - they do so much I don't know where it start, any recommendations?

Product Of The Week #2

Yeah so I had a bit set back.... started these weekly posts and then - totally missed week 2 (although I did pre-warn it may not be every week)! Haha I'm such a fail, but in my defense it was my birthday week and I was super busy!
BUT here is #2 and I promise to try my hardest to keep this up weekly from now on!

Product Of The Week #2 - Bath & Body Works I Love You Bouquet Anti-Bac Hand Gel.
I've mentioned before that I am obsessed with hand gels - I always have one in my bag and am constantly applying them. (I'm probably immune to them now the amount that I use them but still... it makes me feel better!)

The fact I've been using this particular one loads recently it a massive coincidence with the fact it is also Valentine's week!
I had loads of these from when I went to America and have slowly, along with other brands, been getting through them all. Bath & Body Works is so amazing, we need to get it over here!

This stuff smells amazing, if you've had these gels before you will know how awesome BABW make them smell.
This scent is super sweet and lasts for ages - there is a certain zest to it which I can't quite put my finger on but what ever it is I like it! It also has the lovely bursting beads!
I love this anti-bac and I am going to be gutted when it runs out as I actually think it's the last one I have left from the US - *sad face* - time to get myself on eBay I think!

Vivienne Westwood Cheeky Alice Eau De Parfum

Perfumes. I am a total sucker for them (as I'm sure you guys are too!). I have so many and sometimes it is actually a struggle choosing what to spritz myslef with in the moring - total first world probem I know.
It is so easy to sell me on a perfume - and that's without even smelling it, name, brand, bottle - they are just so pretty!
I can't help but keep buying them and I'm always finding new favourites - like this little beauty.... Vivienne Westwood's Cheeky Alice.
This is my first ever perfume post here on A Yellow Brick Blog - I always thought it would be difficult to describe a scent... with no smells but - I'm going to try my hardest... as this is a beauty!

This is the 50ml Cheeky Alice eau de parfum - for those of you that aren't sure what that means ... the easiest way to put it - it is stronger than an eau de toilette. EDT's are like watered down versions of EDP.

The first thing at attracted me to this fragrance was the name.
Cheeky Alice. It seems young, tongue in cheek, fun and flirty and as I already knew that I loved the scent of Naughty Alice - I hoped this one would be well up my street aswell.

Simple and elegant - I love the shape and style of this bottle and the fact the product is clear - I always prefer a clear perfume!
Yes it isn't as loud and jazzy as alot of other perfumes out there but I personally love the chic and sophisticated look of it.
Not only that but it is super easy to hold AND it looks great on my dresser!
Along with all that it comes with the gorgeous red patent bracelet wrapped around the neck.

Now it is hard (for me) to describe a scent via the means of typing on the internet so I thought I would give you guys the official description of the beaut to help you (and me) out!

'Cheeky Alice is a delightful fragrance that captures your attention with notes from lily of the valley and fresh peony mixed with a touch of rose – the eternal symbol of womanhood.'

I feel like this scent is actually a little more mature than some of the other perfumes I own and wear (*cough*Britney*cough*Taylor*) which is one of the reasons I am loving it so much.
It's fresh and feminine and aswell as having a slight floral zing it is also sweet (my favourite type of scent, I'm a sucker for them!)
The only other perfume I've had that is similar to this is probably Hugo Boss Femme - a personal fav of mine.
Personally I love it for both daytime and evening, it is totally wearable for either.
I suppose that is individual preference but I don't think it is too heavy and overpowering for a cute daytime scent but it is still glam enough to wear out on a night out. The best of both worlds.

I having been wearing this literally non-stop since receiving it and am totally and utterly in love.
New signature scent? I think so! Check it out here.

Have you guys bought or tested this yet? I highly recommend having a little spritz the next time you are floating around a perfume counter!
