15 Songs We Were All Obsessed With In The Early 00s
*Random post alert!* I was at work earlier today and I suddenly started thinking of all these classic awesome songs that I LIVED for back when I was in my early teens. And... even though this is not the usual sort of thing I like to post on here I really wanted to share my thoughts with you guys and reminisce a lil' bit!
These were the days of Limewire and MP3 players(whats an ipod!?) and I think I had these particular songs on repeat for months and months on end! Listening to them now takes me straight back to that time - love them! 1. Evanescence - Bring Me To Life
I remember this coming out so so clearly, it was just at the end of my last year of middle school - so like 2003 and I suddenly fell in love with this new sort of genre I hadn't listened to before! I also had their album and knew every single word! 2. City High - What Would You Do?
If you don't know every single lyric to this song - who are you? Yes they were a one hit wonder.... apart from that song they had about Caramel? ..... but these guys were the bomb and this song was THE song to play 24/7. Probably not the sort of thing to be singing about when you're like 12... but hey! 3. JoJo - Leave (Get Out)
Mmmmmm hmmmm - this gurl, this gurl! I mean not only was she in one of the greatest movies ever - Aquamarine - but she also has some god damn good songs! Her album The High Road is STILL to this day one of my favourites, everyone loved this song so much - Jojo please bring out new music soon! 4. Stacie Orrico - Stuck
If you clicked on this link then I'm sure you would have 100% been expecting this one. This was (and still is) one of my favourite songs to belt out in my bedroom "IIIIIIIII can't get out of bed today...."! If you don't know this song - I'm sorry... you missed out on an amazing time in the music industry.... listen to it now! (And don't forget the other amazing tune "There's gotta be more to life") 5. Frankee - FURB
LOL at this song - the angry reply to Eamon's tune F**k it - this was such a rebel song to blare out of your bedroom as a 14 year old. So. much. swearing. 6. Nelly & Kelly - Dilemma
If this wasn't playing at your school disco.... who were you? This was number one for soooo long and it is still such a good song. And can we all just take a moment to appreciate Kelly Rowland's solo career - Stole is one of the greatest most heartbreaking songs... ever. 7. Holly Valance - Kiss Kiss
The greatest thing to come out of Ramsey Street? MWAH .... what a tune! 8. Fat Man Scoop - Be Faithful
After Honey & Step Up came out I was a total hip-hop R'n'b honey and this song was my start of high school jam! I get so excited even now when it comes on when I'm on a night out! 9. Tipsy - J-Kwon
This is my go-to pre-drinking song. Ever, single, time. Ask my friends - they will confirm it! 10. Leann Rimes - Can't Fight The Moonlight
Coyote Ugly is up there with my favourite movies and obviously still a dream career of mine- this song is SO good - I spent many a day/night recording myself singing to this. (Don't act like you didn't do the same!) 11. Hear'Say - Pure & Simple
The first reality TV show band we all fell in love with - I mean the love didn't last long and Liberty X did so much better as a band in the end, but this song was the soundtrack to Year 8. 12. DJ Pied Piper - Do You Really Like It
Is it, is it, wicked? 13. Usher - Burn
This whole album was just life back in 2004. I forgot how much I loved this song until I started writing this post, I have been transported back to 14 year old Kirstie - and she's loving life! 14. Delta Goodrem - Born To Try
Okay I take the whole Holly thing back.... Delta was the greatest thing to come out of Ramsey Street ever. (We'll just forget about the whole Brian McFadden thing........) 15. Bowling For Soup - Girl All The Bad Guys Want
Yes.... I went through that awkward 'skater' stage - and I'm sure most of you did too! Sweatbands, baggy jeans, pop punk mix tape..... and this song was one of my favourites! If you don't know this song - get it on and start head banging now!
PLEASE tell me you guys loved them all too?!
I think I may need to head to iTunes right now and download all of these (apart from the ones I obviously still have on CD!).

Childhood obesity has, from being an aberration, become a cause of concern. Nowadays, there is increasing focus on the health of children and teenagers, and the lack of fitness in that particular age group is constantly under a spotlight.
"Stuck" and "There's Gotta Be More To Life" are STILL on my iTunes to this day - I loved her! This is such a great post Kirstie, feeling all nostalgic!
