2018. The Positive Year.

Oh hello all. It's been a while hasn't it?
I mentioned at the end of last year I'd be taking a break from blogging until 2018, well... that flew by and now we're here, a week into January and I'm feeling ready to throw myself back into the blogosphere.
As it's January - a year month, a new year and all that new me jazz, I wanted to share with you all what I am going to be focusing on this year.
2018 I have decided is a year for ME, a positive year. I want to focus fully on myself, my health, my confidence and everything that goes along with those. So here are a few things I am implementing and changing to ensure I am living my best life and creating the happiest me possible.

Focusing on my gut health
If you've read my blog for a while you might know that I've struggled with certain foods etc for the best part of my life. Coming into the new year I want to really focus on what I am putting into my body, what makes me feel good and what makes me feel healthy, inside and out. No fads diets, no calorie counting and no stress or pressure behind it, I just want to fuel my body with real food, food that is only going to make me feel energised, happy and healthy.

Gaining my fitness back
Due to lack of funds earlier last year I had to cancel my gym membership. This was gutting for me as I LOVED going to the gym and classes for many reasons. It helped keep me active and feeling fit physically and mentally and having a membership I paid for monthly ensured that I went every single week.
I did kid myself into thinking I could stay fit alone, without a gym to go to.... this did not work out, I'm not even going to lie to you guys! I've recently got my membership back and I am already loving throwing myself back into classes with my friends.

Getting rid of the the 'I'll do it tomorrow' attitude

I am the worst human for this.
Whether it be work things, things around the house or just fake tanning... I seem to have this sometimes lazy thought process of 'I'll do it tomorrow.' But no, not this year. If I have the time I'm getting that stuff done - feeling accomplished is so much better than a looming to-do list.

Read a minimum of 12 books

Yes, I am finally getting back into reading. This seems to be on my 'new years resolutions' list every single year but I'm actually following through with it this year as I am fed up with letting myself down.
Reading was always a passion of mine growing up, with books coming out of my ears as a child and teenager. So I have set myself an easily doable goal of reading 12 books this year, any more is a Brucey bonus! I've invested, aka treated myself, to a few new books to start  the year off with (see here) and am already obsessed with my first read, Flawed.

Saying goodbye debt
This is something huge for me for 2018, I want to get rid of all the debt I have. It's not a huge, huge amount but it's still there in my life like a little nagging cloud. Once this is gone it's time to save, save, save. For a mortgage or a trip back to Disneyworld... I mean who knows? Stay tuned...

Back to blogging
The last few years have been very up and down here on AlohaKirstie. From changing my blog name from A Yellow Brick Blog to AlohaKirstie to taking a step back while I started my own business to realising WHY I started blogging in the first place. I really miss creating regular content for both myself and you guys and feel disappointed when I click on alohakirstie.com and see nothing new.
This year I WILL make my mark in the blogging world.... it's been over five years now - half a decade - it's time.

What things are on your list for 2018 to make it your happiest and most positive yet? Let me know in the comments below or tweet me - @AlohaKirstie.
