Make Up Revolution Pro Primer Aqua Priming Base Review

It was only a few years ago that primer became a 'thing' in my make-up bag.

I remember stumbling across the Smashbox photo finish primer whilst travelling the US back in 2012 and wondering how I have ever put make-up on without that game-changing first step.

Since then I have tried SO many. From your everyday bargain drugstore brands to the products with prices that make your eyes water!
This, however, is something fairly new to me. A priming spray.
I've only ever tried one other and I hated the scent so much I only used it once so didn't really get to see how well it worked!
This, Aqua Priming Base from Make-Up Revolution is one of their snazzy new products which they were kind enough to send to me to try out!

This lightweight spray has been working wonders, it's so easy to use and has been making my morning routine that little bit shorter each morning as it sinks into the skin so quickly which I love!

I can't wait to use this during the hotter months too (remember those?) it keeps my skin feeling hydrated without seeming to add any excess oils and seems to do the job of keeping my make-up on!

For only £6 this is definitely worth a try, especially if you're someone who doesn't wear alot of make-up throughout the day or wants a product to help freshen up your skin.

My Top Highlighter Picks Under £7

Highlighters are probably one of my favourite make-up products. For years now I have been obsessed with getting a pretty glowing complexion and the amount of products I have bought, tried and tested is endless!
Some of the best highlighters I own and use most seem to be ones which don't break the bank - which is a total win-win situation right?
I've picked out 5 of my favourites to chat about today... and they are all under £7 ... most of them under £5! *Barry Bargain Alert!*
I've choosen a mix of brands plus a mix of both liquids and powders, as I know some of you are more of a fan of one than the other!
First up my ultimate favourite - 1. Seventeen's Skin Wow! Highlighter - £5.99. This is a product which I have raved and raved about since it was released in 2013 now! The amount of friends I've made buy this is countless now haha! The bottle of this stuff literally lasts me for months on end even though I use it daily and it is a great dupe for Benefit's High Beam at just the fraction of the price!
The most expensive of the bunch is the 2. Sleek Contour Kit - £6.49. Being a bronzer and a highlighter you can forgive it for being a little pricier than the others I'm featuring. I've already gone through one of these kits and had to buy a replacement, so for me this is a keeper! With the amount of different products I own and test to use one up completely is not something that happens regularly. The highlighter is a gorgeous alongside the matte bronzer, it's a lovely peachy shade, great for summer.
Next is the newest on the block which I actually did a review on not too long ago. 3. Rimmel Good To Glow Highlighter is only £4.99, a great price for one of the best high street brands in the UK. The shade I have is Notting Hill Glow and it is a lovely pearly liquid highlighter which I have been wearing more or less everyday under my foundation to highlighter certain areas, if you are a Rimmel fan this is a must-have for your collection.
The last two are both from one of the most popular bargain brands out there at the moment - Make-Up Revolution.
Number 4. is the Make-Up Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter and at only £3 is it the cheapest product. The shade I've shown here is Pink Lights and my favourite of the bunch. The lightest and pinkest of the lot this is a beaut... although the product pattern itself is a bit off-putting... let me know what you think it looks like.
Lastly we have 5. the Make-Up Revolution Radiant Lights Highlighter* - £5. These super pigmented powders are amazing value for money and with a range of shades there is a highlight for every skin tone. Pictured is the shade Exhale, a pretty creamy colour perfect for contouring aswell as highlighting.

What are your favourite highlighters? Do you like buying cheaper brands aswell as high end?

theBalm Mary Lou Manizer Review

theBalm is a brand that I have admired from a distance for so long now, I have no idea why it has taken me this long to even try one of their products!
The packaging and naming of their products has always been something that has caught my eye when browsing sites such as Asos and Feel Unique and along with the fairly reasonable pricing they seem to have got their marketing on point.

I was extremely excited when theBalm recently contacted me and asked if I want to try out a few of their best selling products - of course I leaped at the chance (who wouldn't) and have been in awe of their awesomeness ever since!

theBalm Mary Lou Manizer*
I am such a highlight lover. For years now I have been constantly buying and looking for products to give my skin that radiant look that celebritys seem to rock with ease!

The Mary Lou Manizer (told you the names were genius) is a gorgeous pearly powder highlight which comes in a cute little compact with a handy mirror.

I have been using this both under and over the top of my foundation to create a pretty honey hued glow for both everyday looks and my full-face "going out" make-up!
My favourite places to put it is on the apples on my cheeks sweeping up towards my temples, down the center of my nose and under my eyebrows!

Giving my skin a slight shimmer and dewy radiant glow this powder is definitely perfect for anyone's complexion, it gives the skin a softer and younger and it has gone straight into my everyday make-up bag to hang out with my other favourite highlighters!

This 8.5g compact is £16 - a middle of the road price overall I'd say but the quality in both product and packaging is much better than anything you'd get on the high street and I can tell this is going to be a product that lasts and lasrs!

If you are looking for a new highlighter or maybe thinking about treating someone for their birthday or Christmas I highly recommend this one! It isn't too OTT and you can build it up so easily - top marks to thebalm babes!

MeMeMe Flawless Concealer Review

Hello fellow beauty lovers and addicts - I'm back today with a brand spanking review - wahoooo!
I feel like I haven't done a make-up review in so long, what a bad beauty blogger I am! But nevertheless here I am with a snazzy new concealer I've been trying out and wanted to share with you all so ......keep on reading to find out more!
MeMeMe are a brand which I had heard lots and lots about - especially for their well-known "dupes" for products like Benefit's High Beam (things like this alwasy get my attention!) so trying their products has been on my to-do list for a while!

This is the Flawless Concealer, a liquid concealer which comes in a range of 3 shades according to MeMeMe's website but my product simly to says "No.5" so I'm not too sure which one it is!
MeMeMe Flawless Concealer*
With is doe-footed applicator this lightweight and creamy product is easy to swipe on to help created a 'flawless' complexion and gt rid of all those nasty imperfections I spend my mornings groaning about.

I have been using this for about a week now and have been really really happy with it. I normally use Seventeen's Phwoarr Paint but with all this hot weather it has just seemed a bit thick and heavy on my skin and by the end of the day I have been regretting slapping it on in the mornings, espeiclly if I've used a lighter base like a CC cream.
For a lightweight cream this concealer gives great coverage. I have been using it on both my dark circles and a few blemishes and spots that have seemed to crop up on my face recently. (sun = sweat = spots, appratnly - not cool skin, not cool!)
Obviously it isn't as heavy duty as Seventeen's but for the current climate I have been enjoying using this alot more!

This is actually only £6.50 (see here) which I was pleasantly surprised about as I thought it would be a bit more than that!
I'm looking forward to trying out more from this brand - so keep your eyes peeled as MeMeMe are bound to be making another appearance on A Yellow Brick Blog!
Any of you guys tried anything out anything from them before?

Rodial Instaglam Skin Tint Capri (Light) Review

Hello lovely ones! Hope you are all well and having a good week so far! Today I have a review for you all from that new brand in my life Rodial.
You may remember my post about the fabulous Glamstick last week and I'm back with another make-up product from them in the form of a skin tint!

This is the Instaglam skin tint in the shade Capri (light.)
Rodial Instaglam Skin Tint Capri (Light)*
First up, obsessed with this product's name. I'm an Instagram hoe so the fact this is called Instaglam just makes me happy!

It is a skin tint.... aka a tinted moisturiser/BB cream type product! I was a little worried about the shade when I first got my hands on it as it is the lightest one in the collection but it is actually turned out alot better than I was expecting.

It comes in a professional loooking  40ml tube with a snazzy silver mirrored lid! I'm pretty lucky with my skin so I don't mind wearing something that isn't high coverage, this is said to be medium coverage and I would agree with that.
I've been wearing this a couple of times a week when I haven't been upto much and not after  full-on look.
The texture is smooth, soft and creamy like a moisturiser and glides onto the skin with ease.

I've found I need to use a fair bit each time to get my desired coverage but it does give me a nice, even look.
It doesn't cover my bag under my eyes I can tell you that, I definitely need concealer alongside this if I want some good coverage in that area but everything else like redness and freckles are covered easily and evenly.
Bloomin lipstick swatches staying on my hand! Proper long-lasting those!

Although it leaves my skin feeling really smooth it does leave quite a shine on my skin which I'm not surprised by, as of it's consistency so if you are prone to oily/shiny skin this probably won't help you BUT if you suffer with dry and dehydrated skin this would be fab!

To be honest I've not noticed my 'lines/wrinkles' being plumped that much like it promises but my skin does feel very even and soft. It might work better and be more noticeable on more mature skin maybe?

This is the perfect product for me for the hot summer weather, alot lighter and fresher than my usual foundations and it has an SPF 30 which is great you are going to be outside for the majority of the day - beach/festival/holiday.
I will definitely be taking this to Florida with me but I don't think I'll be able to wear it for that long as once I have a tan it will be way too light.

I do have one problem with this product and that is the price. This retails at £45 which for what it is, I would say is alot. I think £20 would be sufficient!
You can see this beauty here on Rodial's website! I'm really intrigued now to try some more products from this brand - I've heard such amazing things about their skincare and a certain boob cream which sounds awesome, so keep your eyes peeled as I'm sure they'll be more reviews coming your way soon!
