October Favourites 2016

What's that? A favourites post? Yup, bonjour! Slightly later than planned but hey-ho it's here.... let's just ignore the fact it's mid-November!
Now... sit down, grab a cup of rosy lee and listen to me ramble on to what I have been loving over the past month!
First up .... some Rosie For Autograph goodies! Both the original Eau de Parfum from Rosie and the large candle of the same beautiful floral scent have become my go-tos for October/November - I am in love.
A strong scent with amazing staying power - I have been getting so many compliments on my everyday scent recently with a few shocks when I say what it is.... nope not Chanel or Dior!
I still can't get over how much of a bargain this range is with the 30ml scent at £14 and the candle only £15 these are definitely a duo I will be re-purchasing! I cannot get enough of this range.... like, seriously - if you haven't tried out any of the cosmetics or fragrances yet... do it!

Next up - the Moroccanoil Treatment. I can easily say this is hands down the best hair oil I've ever tried and I'm not quite sure how I managed to live without it for so long to be quite honest with you all!
After months of living off cheaper versions I decided to invest once more in my favourite little hair treat and two bottles down I'm not regretting it.
These are around £13 fo r a 30ml .... which made sound alot but this stuff lasts me at least a month/6 weeks per bottle, and I use a fair bit of it each time I wash my hair - I always worry when it start to run low... definitely something for my Christmas list!

Make-up now and .... ermahgerd, this duo from Charlotte Tilbury is just heaven.
If you are looking for some make-up to invest in I cannot receommend Charlotte Tilbury's Filmstar Bronze & Glow enough. This bronzer and highlight duo is a MUST in my everyday routine now - from sitting in the office in a hoodie to going on a night out with the girls, I use this palette.
I use the bronze to contour and give me a bit of colour and the highlight to give me a subtle gorgeous glow - I cannot get enough of this, I will 100% be repurchasing when the time comes (even with it's hefty price tag!).

Also on the cosmetic train, another liquid lipstick that's been added to my every growing collection. Since trying out Soft Spoken by NYX months ago (and talking about it non-stop) I knew it was about time I invested in another. Well, I didn't go crazy and yes I just went for anothe nude, but you can really never have too many nude lippys can you?!

This time I went for NYX Liquid Suede Lipstick in Sandstorm - basically a liquid lipstick version of Velvet Teddy from MAC and I have been reaching for this nearly everyday! Nudes are my go-to's for everyday, I jsut find them so easy and tend not have have to re-apply them every hour like other shades like red that you really have to commit too! Compared to other liquid lipsticks on the market too these are a steal and the quality is amazing.

Non-beauty favourites now and well... I have a few.
Of course HAMILTON is still my life. I cannot get enough and don't think I ever will. The thought of being able to finally see it live next year literally makes me want to burst into tears, I mean even seeing the theatre front recently had me go into meltdown/fangirl/emotional crying mode!
I have had Lady Gaga - Joanne on ALOT, Gaga is definitley back and better than ever on the music front, so many amazing songs on this album.

I've been watching a lot of Black Mirror, which has had me baffled, traumatized , shocked and overthinking everything every single episode. Some of them are just total genius and some of them are just totally f***ed up, but they always get you thinking! (It reminds me a little of Inside No9.... so if you have enjoyed that then give it a go!)

The Vampire Diaires is back which is awesome, kind of sad that it's the last season but at the same time probably is about time!
Total Bellas of course has been my favourite song of the moment - I love Nikki & Brie a little TOO much.... I'm so glad that Total Divas starts back soon aswell.... can someone help me train to be a wrestler please?

What have been your go-to products, books, TV shows etc this past month or so?! Gimme ALL the recommendations you can!

My Everyday Contouring Duo

Contouring has been talk of the make-up town for at least a year now and although I'm no Kimmy K when it comes to shaping my face, I do use a couple of products in my everyday routine to give me a little definition, colour and shimmer.

These two have been a solid make-up favourite and in my make-up bag since the day that I got them. It was literally love at first use and I know I've talked about them a fair few times already on here but I do feel like they deserve another mention!
These two are both from the ever-growing cosmetic brand theBalm - on the left the Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter and on the right the Bahama Mama bronzer - and I cannot rant and rave about these enough.

The highlight is a gorgeous pinky silver shimmer highlight which gives a gorgeous sheen and glow to the skin and the bronzer is a fantastic matte tan shade, which I always find hard to get hold of (For under £25 anyway!) - together they are a dream team!

I start off my doing my usual base of make-up - primer, concealer and foundation. I then use my Zoeva Sheer Luxe Cheek Brush to sweep the bronzer into the classic '3' shape from my forehead round to my cheekbones and then down towards jawline. At this point I look a bit OTT and ridiculous but that doesn't last long.

I then use the other end/side of the brush to start of the highlighting.
With the Mary-Lou I usually pop a bit alongside/above the line I had made along my cheekbones, then down my nose, a tad on my forehead and a little on my cupids bow and chin.
Then it's time for the blending - I use my big fluffy Real Techniques powder brush to buff it all together in small circular motions, blending away those harsh lines and creating a soft, subtle and wearable bronzed and highlighted look.

As you can see.... these are running thin and I'm already panicking about running out! Even though I'm trying to save money this next year these will have the be a re-purchased as I really can't see me living without them anytime soon.

What are you favourite bronzers and highlights? Have you tried either of these?

My Top Highlighter Picks Under £7

Highlighters are probably one of my favourite make-up products. For years now I have been obsessed with getting a pretty glowing complexion and the amount of products I have bought, tried and tested is endless!
Some of the best highlighters I own and use most seem to be ones which don't break the bank - which is a total win-win situation right?
I've picked out 5 of my favourites to chat about today... and they are all under £7 ... most of them under £5! *Barry Bargain Alert!*
I've choosen a mix of brands plus a mix of both liquids and powders, as I know some of you are more of a fan of one than the other!
First up my ultimate favourite - 1. Seventeen's Skin Wow! Highlighter - £5.99. This is a product which I have raved and raved about since it was released in 2013 now! The amount of friends I've made buy this is countless now haha! The bottle of this stuff literally lasts me for months on end even though I use it daily and it is a great dupe for Benefit's High Beam at just the fraction of the price!
The most expensive of the bunch is the 2. Sleek Contour Kit - £6.49. Being a bronzer and a highlighter you can forgive it for being a little pricier than the others I'm featuring. I've already gone through one of these kits and had to buy a replacement, so for me this is a keeper! With the amount of different products I own and test to use one up completely is not something that happens regularly. The highlighter is a gorgeous alongside the matte bronzer, it's a lovely peachy shade, great for summer.
Next is the newest on the block which I actually did a review on not too long ago. 3. Rimmel Good To Glow Highlighter is only £4.99, a great price for one of the best high street brands in the UK. The shade I have is Notting Hill Glow and it is a lovely pearly liquid highlighter which I have been wearing more or less everyday under my foundation to highlighter certain areas, if you are a Rimmel fan this is a must-have for your collection.
The last two are both from one of the most popular bargain brands out there at the moment - Make-Up Revolution.
Number 4. is the Make-Up Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter and at only £3 is it the cheapest product. The shade I've shown here is Pink Lights and my favourite of the bunch. The lightest and pinkest of the lot this is a beaut... although the product pattern itself is a bit off-putting... let me know what you think it looks like.
Lastly we have 5. the Make-Up Revolution Radiant Lights Highlighter* - £5. These super pigmented powders are amazing value for money and with a range of shades there is a highlight for every skin tone. Pictured is the shade Exhale, a pretty creamy colour perfect for contouring aswell as highlighting.

What are your favourite highlighters? Do you like buying cheaper brands aswell as high end?

This Week I'm Loving... #10

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Okay... I LOVE this show! By the time this post goes up I'm 99% sure I would have seen the whole season already! It is hilarious, I don't want to spoil it so if you have Netflix go and watch it now! (The theme song is the best!)

MAC Velvet Teddy Lipstick
I've wanted this beauty for so long now, so when I saw it was back in stock I thought I'd treat myself! Such a gorgeous nude, I'm sure it will be featured on here alot more!

Fringed H&M Bag
This was the best purchase I've made in a while! I love love love this new bag, it is the perfect size for me - I can't wait to take it to Berlin with me this week!

The Following Season 3
Yay! I have been waiting for this for what seems like forever! This show is awesome, yes it's tense and a bit gory but it is brilliant, love a bit of Kevin Bacon!

Make-up Revolution Contour Brush
This has slowly become my everyday go-to brush for contouring! I use this with my Rodial Contouring powder and my Mary-Lou Manizer from theBalm! They are only £3 too, bargain!

Chocolate Chip Hobnobs
I have come to a serious conclusion, chocolate chip hobnobs are better than chocolate hobnobs... call me crazy - but they are!

Focus
Yes Margot Robbie was in my post last week BUT she's making an appearance once again! I went to see Focus in the week and thought it was awesome! I love a good con-artist movie/TV show.... seriously thy need to bring back Hustle - that was a favourite of mine! Will Smith and Margot are great and my crushes on them both are strong.

Afterlight
I'm all for fun editing apps and this one is now a favourite of mine! I found out about this after reading a post from the lovely Megan from Thumbelina Lillie! It isn't a free app which sucks but I love all the filters and thing you get on it so I think it's worth it!

Eylure 101 Eyelashes
These are now my eyelashes of choice! I used to be obsessed with 107's but they've change them and now thy feel way too big for my teeny tiny eyes! These are great though, I keep buying the 3 packs from Boots, I wish I could wear them 24/7!

theBalm Bahama Mama Bronzer

There's a new bronzer in my life and I'm in love.

I've talked about a few things from this brand lately and I am yet to find a product from them that I am disappointed with.

theBalm has indeed lived up to it's incredible reputation for me and their products really are as good in quality as they are in their packaging and names.
Today I am talking about Bahama Mama - a gorgeous bronzer fantastic for contouring and giving your skin a healthy glow!
After using my Sleek contour palette day in-day out for over a year and being totally in love with it, trying something new wasn't really on my to-do list!
So when the lovely people at theBalm sent me over this I wasn't sure whether it would live up to my high expectations of that drugstore bargain!

But after trying it out alongside the Mary Lou Manizer (review and photos here) as a contour and highlight, my sleek kit was quickly chucked to the back of my make-up bag and happily replaced by this duo from thebalm.
I sweep this in the number 3 shape from my chin up towards my forehead and after highlighting blend together with a large powder brush.
I love the subtle contour it gives and the fact it is a matte finish is even better, it seems like more and more matte bronzers are becoming available thank goodness.

The bronzer comes in a gorgeous little compact, complete with mirror - which is very handy if you're on the go!

Bahama Mama is £13.50 and is available at ASOS and Superdrug.
BIG, big love for this bronzer - it has made it's way into my everyday make-up routine and I can't see it leaving anytime soon!

Crown Brush Professional Contouring Palette Review

Crown brush won my heart over this summer when I tried out some of their brushes for the first time! BUT this brand doesn't only make fabulous brushes, oh no, they also have a gorgeous ever-growing make-up range to go alongside them.
I'm a big sucker for palettes, mainly because I'm a sucker for anything pretty/fabulous, and the contouring palette from Crown is no exception!
This 26 shade masterpiece contains a full of a range of colours to help enhance nearly any complexion and I have fallen hook, line and sinker for it.

This palette comes in a back slick, slim hard case which is easy to store and looks as professional as it's name!

The range of neutral shades are right up my street, I'm a bit of wimp when it comes to brights, especially on the eyes so these pinks, tans and slight plums are perfect for me for both my everyday make-up and my awkward attempts at creating a smokey eye. (Yes, I'm not the greatest.... but I blame my eyes - they are so small!)

Crown Brush Professional Contouring Palette*

I thought I would highlight a few of my favourite shades above! The bottom two I have been loving using together daily - the left tan shade to help contour my cheeks and then the warmer pinker tone alongside it!
You only need to tiniest bit of the bottom right hand shade as it is pretty bold but when blended across the cheek it gives a gorgeous rosey gold shimmer.

The other shades pointed out are the ones I have been using most on my eyes, they blend together so well and I've actually been choosing this over my holy grail naked palette (along with another palette which I've also fallen in love with and which I'm sure you will all see soon!)
And..... there's a closer look for you! This shades are amazing quality, so pigmented and some gorgeous shades that you would pay a hell of alot more for if they were from somebody like Mac!

With both matte and shimmer shades to compliment and contour this versatile number from Crown Brush UK is a perfect addition to any make-up lovers collection whether just starting out or professionally. For just £19.99 I think this is a total steal and you can find out more and/or order it - here!

Make-Up Revolution Haul

If you haven't heard of Make-Up Revolution yet then.... where on earth have you been? After trying out a few products a couple of months ago I was long over-due to place a cheeky order with the new bargain brand!

After a long, long browse I narrowed my shopping basket to these few beauties - I literally could buy everything... and I'm sure overtime I probably will!
Lips
First up I'll share with you the lip products I ordered - everyone knows I have a lipstick/lipgloss/lipanything addiction so it was seriously hard to pick only a few to buy at first!
Bottom photo left to right
Amazing Sheer Lipgloss Tube - Hush Hush (Top left photo)
I have one of these tubes already in the shade 'Baby Try' and love it! Normally I'm not a fan of tube lipglosses but these are great and this one has a lovely sugary scent!
Salvation Intense Lacquer - Gave You All My Love
These remind me of Rimmel's Apocalips - a gorgeous thick lipgloss with amazing highly pigmented colour and this one has a great shimmer to it too!
Happy Lips Amazing Care Lipstick - Love pink! (Top right photo)
I was a bit dubious about buying this as I wasn't sure weather it would be a normal lipbalm product which I already have a million of but after trying it out quickly I have been so pleasantly surprised! This stuff feels amazing (funnily enough that's the name of the product!) it has argan oil in it which is pretty cool and it gives a great colour aswell as fully hydrating my lips!

How I only bought 3 lipsticks I don't know..... I'm already twitching to buy more!
These are the 'Amazing Lipsticks' and they are only £1 each! Total bargain!
I picked up (left to right top photo) Beloved, Dazzle & Depraved!
These are a gorgeous trio of colours and for £1 I cannot express how much you need these in your life!
Face
Bronze Shimmer Highlight
This was so much bigger than I was expecting which is awesome - talk about more for my money! This has three lovely shades though it adnd looks like it is going to be perfect for summer - cannot wait to take it on holiday with me!
Vivid Baked Highlighter - Pink Lights
Now I already owned one of these highlighters and loved it so much I have to buy another one (I now only have one of them left to buy which I can imagine will be very soon) These are only £3 each and a total steal - the perfect powder highlight!
The lovely people at MUR actually contacted me when they knew I was going to make an order and asked if I wanted to try out one of their NEW palettes as part of my order for no charge! Obviously this was a huge yes please!! I have been seeing so much about these palettes and it really was a right toughy trying to pick one!
Cover & Conceal Concealer Palette - Light-Medium*
I thought this looked perfect for sorting out an imperfections and may have a go at some contouring with it!
Eyes
Lastly we have eye products!
Baked Eyeshadow - Pure and Innocent
This gorgeous neutral/bronzed selection is my idea of heaven. I live for my naked palette and these colours are right up there with them! I am so so chuffed with it and can't wait to try it out properly!
Focus & Fix Eye Primer - Original
I have been running out of eye primers to use so obviously buying another one was already on the cards - this feels like it is going to be great, can't wait to try it out along the baked eyeshadows!

So there you have it they are the 11 items I recently picked up from Make-up Rev!
You can find everything you've seen here on the Make-up Revolution official website - www.makeuprevolutionstore.com or Superdrug.
What are your favourite products from MUR so far? What should I buy next?!

June Favourites

Another month down which means, another favourites post! June has been mostly a great month, with a few lows! My highlight of the month has to be the Isle Of Wight Festival, I had such a great time with my boyfriend and friends (check out my 30 Day Snap for some pictures of my weekend)!
Here's just a few other things I have been loving in the month of June!
A bit of a mixture of things this month and I've actually already mentioned a few of them in previous posts aswell, but these are my top picks from the last 30 days or so!
First up is the Sally Hansen Moisturising Nail Polish Remover for dry, brittle nails (aka mine!)
I actually was going to put this in my May favourites but totally forgot about it, so Iknew it just HAD to go in this months!
I have been using this stuff for  a few months now (after stealing it from my Mum) and really love it!
My nails are so so brittle and flaky and always have been. They don't grow and if they do then they just break - which is why I love have extensions and shellac! Not only can I feel this stuff befitting my nails but it works so so well as a remover. Just one cotton pad with this stuff gets all my nail varnish from both hands off first time, not alot of removers can do that! (if you go looking for this in the shops it is the blue Sally Hansen remover .... you can't really tell that in the photo!)
Next is the Face Contour Kit by Sleek in the shade - Light. I mentioned this in a haul post called Thank You Mr. Postman and have used it everyday since! (Well everyday that I've worn make-up)! I use an angled blush brush from the elf mineral bamboo line for the bronzer along my cheek bone and then the real techniques contour brush to apply the highlighter above it! I then use the blush brush again from Real Techniques to blend them together to avoid any harsh lines. I love the effect and the quality of the product is amazing, I keep getting asked if I'm wearing High Beam (a Benefit highlighter) on my cheeks - well worth the price it is now a staple in my make-up bag.
Pretty isn't it? Yup I've got myself a new bag this month, so clearly it has to be in my favourites!
This is the mini shopper bag from Zara (I'm sure you've all seen it before!). I don't have a Zara anywhere near where I live so I always get my stuff from their online store. Originally I did want the orange version of this bag but unfortunately they didn't have that one available on the website so I settled for this gorgeous green colour. (Although black is a great colour as it goes with everything I fancied something a little different this season)! I think this bag is such a bargain for the price -  only £22.99 - and the size, for me, is perfect!
I always seem to manage to have everything in my bag, I feel the need to be prepared for any situation or outcome so space is a big thing for me and although it looks fairly small it really isn't! I've used this everyday for weeks and keep getting loads of compliments on it, if the orange shade ever goes online I will 100% be buying that one too! (What's in my bag? post will be up later this week!)

First of all ... LOL at my foot sneaking in the photo, I've only just noticed this as I'm writing this section - doh!
If you read blogs alot, watch youtube, go on twitter or hell, just use the internet you are going to have heard so much about  these already! Baring this in mind I shan't bore you for long. These are some of my Real Techniques brushes - the best brushes I own. From left to right you have - the Powder, Buffing , Blush, Stippling, Contour & Expert Face brushes. I use most of these daily, they are so soft and give the best results for someone who wears a full-face of make-up like myself - a fantastic investment.
Now, I could do a whole post about these. If you are a regular reader (thank you) you would have already seen me rave about these in my recent post - Kirstie's Beauty Buys Of The Week. A few weeks ago now I purchased the pink shade on the right - Nova. I immediately fell in love with the feel and result of it and knew I would be purchasing more.
After searching high and low for a new red lipgloss I knew this was going to be the one - Big Bang (left) is such an amazing colour and I love that I have the look and stay of a lipstick and the shine of lipgloss all in one!
These lip lacquers are faultless I'm going to be buying more this week!
Guilty confession to make with this one. I copied my Mum! She has the larger version and this one and I always think they look so cute! So this week when I saw this on sale for half price I had to buy it!
It is from M&Co (I think this is actually the first thing I've ever bought from there) and was down to £6 from £12. I've put all my small stacking rings in here and it's replaced the glass ashtray that was featured in my Make-up Storage post with it.
In my last favourites posts I shared with you my favourite album of the month and this month is going to be no different!
I cannot stop listening to Demi Lovato's new album - Demi! This is my sort of music, girly, fun, a few ballads and great to sing along too! It is one of those albums that you only have to listen to once and you know you love it, I have been playing it non-stop for weeks and weeks! My favourite tracks are Nightingale, Warrior, Made In The USA & Really Don't Care (which features Cher Lloyd!).

What have you been loving this month?!

Thank you Mr. Postman

So the postman banged on the door at around 8am this morning.... it is a Saturday - this is early for my house at the weekend! BUT thank god someone bothered to answer it because.... it was all stuff for me (oops!) and super exciting stuff aswell! So I thought I would do a quick small haul for you before I head off out into the sunshine for the day!
All the nail polishes above are from Fragrance Direct and were total bargains (would you expect anything less from me?) The essie polishes were all ONLY £1.99 each , yes I am not lying only £1.99! Essie polishes normally retail at around £7.99 so these were total bargains, I'm guessing they are discontinued colours or products they had over ordered but these doesn't make the colour or quality any different. The other polish I got was an OPI colour and I'd seen this a while ago and feel in love but I am well too poor/stingy to pay £8/9 for one nail polish at the moment so when I saw this for £3.99 - I was sold!

1. OPI Nail PolishNothin' Mousie Bout It
Like I said before I'd seen this a while ago and feel in love. Firstly, it is Disney related! Yes it is from the Minnie Mouse collection which, even if I didn't know any of the colours I would buy because of the name alone! This polish is so unique and that's what I love about it! Not only is it a pretty shimmery pink colour BUT it also has little hearts in the polish! Just like the confetti polishes that seem to have come in recently this polish paints little hearts onto your nails too. So cute. IT does need a few coats as the product is quite sheer but this is fab for using as a top coat over another colour. (sorry the photo for this hasn't come out that well, maybe google it for a better picture! :( )

2. ESSIE Nail Polish - Neo Whimiscal
First one of my total bargains is this gorgeous nude colour. I have a couple of nude/really pale pink colours already in my nail polish collection but they are always so so thin and need about 5 coats so I hardly ever bother wearing them. I hoped that being an essie polish (I love their quality) that it would work alot better and be alot thicker... and I was not wrong! This is fab and only needed a coat or two to get a really nice opaque nude which I have been looking for for so long.

3. ESSIE Nail Polish - Cascade Cool
Did Kirstie need another bubblegum pink type nail polish? ...... of course she did! On Fragrance Direct the colour swatch they put with the nails of the polishes are just not very convincing or helpful so what I like to do (ADVICE ALERT) is google the name of the product and go straight to images. 9 times out of 10 people are going to have already have bought the product and put up some fab photos of it on their nails.... the perfect way to see what the colour ACTUALLY looks like! I do this with everthing I buy on FD and it is so so helpful! Anyway this is a gorgeous girly pink which I know is going to become a staple pink that I always reach for.

4. ESSIE Nail Polish - Bikini So Teeny
Perfect for summer this is a cool pastel blue. I'm definitely going to wear this to the festivals I am going too this summer, I think I even prefer it to my Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream (and that says alot!) I also think this and Cascade Cool would work really really well together!

5. ESSIE Nail Polish - Mojito Madness
Don't you just love the names of all these polishes? That must be the best job - 'nail polish namer.' I may look into how to apply for this...... anyway back to Mojito Madness! I'd like to describe this as a dark pastel green (is that allowed?) Even though it is quite a bold colour for nails it is quite subtle and I can't wait to find some clothes to match this colour as I think it would look so cool together.

6. ESSIE Nail Polish - Action
Last but not least for nail polishes is Action! This is a super bright orange and this is a colour I have been looking for for a while. The number one reason I wanted a polish this colour - it will look amazing with a tan, and that is why I bought it. I think super bright fluorescent colours look so amazing in the summer especially with all the neon/90s clothing that is coming back in and this colour will look great on both fingers and toes! The only downside is that this polish just seemed like its not been shaken enough even though I've done it loads, but for £1.99 I can't complain!

Sleek Face Contour Kit -Light
I have wanted this for so long as I have seen so many people raving about it but no shops near me stock Sleek! So I finally caved and ordered it from Superdrug online (free delivery was what sold me) and I am so so glad I did! I was already in love with the product without even seeing it and now that it's here I love it even more! I can already tell this is going to be perfect for my skin, I got the light as I thought 1. I don't have a tan yet and 2. it is easier to build a darker colour if needed that make something lighter!
The bronzer is matte which is great, I think it's really hard to find a plain matte bronzer most of them seem to have some form of shimmer even if only tiny. The highlighter is also amazing, I am a sucker for any form of highlighter to be honest, I love the look they give and ever since the first time I randomly bought High Beam from Benefit when I was a teenger I have been hooked on highlighters! It is a super pretty shimmer and I cannot wait to use it later! (Sorry that in the photo you can see the lovely finger mark from myself.... I jsut couldn't wait!)

Yellow iPhone Case
This is, of course, from eBay (the only place I buy my cases from)! If you're anything like me then you get bored of having the same case on after a while and need a change (there are other people like me right?) So I love going on eBay and searching for a new case! I had a bit of an accident this week when I ordered a new case but ordered it for an iPhone 5 not a 4s... what a doughnut so I needed a replacement fast! This one was only £2.49 and I think it is perfect for summer, so simple and plain but with really pretty detailing... and kind of matches my blog now I think about it!
