Video : Easy Curly Lob Hair Tutorial

After lots of requests I've finally filmed how I create my messy curly lob!
Everytime I upload a photo or video where I've curled/waved my hair I have lots of people asking how I do it and what I use so I thought it was about time I just went and showed you all.
I love having shorter hair, cutting it off was the best decision I've made all year.
I'd love to know your thoughts on this - tutorials are a brand new thing to me.... it's a little nerve-wracking but I found it so much fun to film!

Kirstie's Movie Recommendations #2

I'm so glad you all liked the first movie recommendations post - after reading all your comments I'm back with #2! Another 5 movie's which I LOVE and think you guys should check out! (There will be TV Show & Book recommendations coming soon :)
1. Looper
Bruce Willis AND Joseph Gordon-Levitt in one movie.... playing one person. Yup - amazeballs! I loved this movie so much - so clever, I love a good crime/futuristic thriller that make you think! So many twists and turns you really have to pat attention! This would take forever to explain via this one little blog post so just go and get it and watch.... like now!

2. The Social Climber
Also known as Confessions Of A Sociopathic Social Climber.I randomly stumbled across this movie back in the days of Woolworths. It was only £2 for this and another film so I picked them up and found a gem. A light-hearted romantic comedy about a girl who takes the phrase 'fake it til you make it' to the next level and will stop at nothing to pursue her dream of being at the top.
3. Silver Linings Playbook
Anything with J-law in is a winner really isn't it? Add a bit of Bradley Cooper and literally nothing can go wrong! The acting in this is incredible (she got an oscar... duh!) and the story is powerful and emotional - so much love for this, it will make you smile, laugh and cry, great for a girly night in!

4. In Time
Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried in a movie where time has replaced all types of currency ... amazing right? Such an awesome concept, 4 minutes for a cup of coffee, minutes for the bus journey home....this action movie is a race against the clock where every minute counts.... and JT is some awesome action eye candy.

5. Due Date
Massive LOLs alert. Seriously this movie makes me laugh every single time. Robert Downey Junior and Zach Galifanakis become unlikely road trip buddies, I honestly find this funnier than The Hangover and it has a french bulldog called Sonny in it... my fav!

Kirstie's Movie Recommendations #1

I've been thinking about doing a post like this for a little while! It's not beauty or fashion related but more or less everyone loves a good movie and I'm a major movie lover and cinema addict!
I have a major passion for films and always have done since I was a kid so I thought why not share with you a few favs of mine and maybe introduce you to some new titles that you may never heard of ..... or we can just completely bond over the love certain films!
FYI.. I obviously won't be including any spoilers here and if this is a hit I'll be doing more... as my list of favourite movie's is endless!

1. Heartbreakers
A movie which I always recommend to my friends - such a fun and hilarious chick flick from 2001 about a mother and daughter con artist duo! If you love comedys and a good con artist movie you will love this! Max (Sigourney Weaver)  marries rich men and then gets her daughter Page (Jennifer Love Hewitt) to seduce them somehow - catching them in the act and reaping huge divorce settlements in the process! They decided to one do one last sting and head to Palm Beach Florida in search of the richest man they can find!
I seriously love this movie - too me it never gets old! Warning : You will get serious body envy of JLH.

2. A Little Princess
One of those movies that makes me cry every.single.time. Yes this is a "kids" movie but I think anyone can enjoy this. Rich little Sara is sent from her home in India to a boarding school in New York when her Dad is called to war. When her father is pronouced missing and Sara's tutuion money stops the strict head of the school Miss. Minchin turns the tables on Sara and she is banished to live with the help.
Honestly one of my favourite movies which will makes you both beam ear to ear and cry your little eyes out, go and watch it now!

3. She's All That
A total early 00s classic, I think I watched this on repeat as a 13 year old! I loved this era of teen movie's as I'm sure if you did too if you are around my age! Zack the future prom king and total heartthrob of the school is dumped by the most popular (and bitchy) girl - Taylor Vaughn and therefore heartbroken/pissed.  Zack then bets his best friend Dean that he can take any girl and turn her into a potential prom queen, Dean chooses  Laney Boggs a totally unpopular, art freak who couldn't care less about being in the spotlight.
I seriously love his film, I think I can probably speak it word for word...... "I wanna be like Mike."! (p.s. look out for Usher!)

4. The Help
One of my favourite movie's of all time - I feel like I could watch this and then when it finishes watch it again straight after. This best selling book is bought to life by an incredible cast of some of my favourite actress' including the awesome Emma Stone! Set in the south of the US in the 60s this book is all about the life of the upper class and their black maids aka The Help. This movie is both heartbreaking and hilarious - I don't want to say anymore about it as I just think you should go and watch it now!

5. Drop Dead Gorgeous
Lastly we've got Drop Dead Gorgeous! With a cast of faces you are bound to recognise (including Kirsten Dunst, Kirstie Alley, Brittany Murphy and Amy Adams) this movie focuses on the Mount Rose teen beauty pageant and the process the girls go through in their bid to winning and getting through to the national competition.
Filmed like a documentary this movie is hilarious and shows that some people will do anything to win, with lots of twists you probably won't be expecting this was permantly in my video player for months as a teenager!

So then..... have you seen any of these? You must have right? If not then get to Netflix, Amazon or HMV right now and have a watch!
Please let me know if you enjoy this sort of post and I will carry on and share more of my recommendations with you - maybe even TV series and books too, what do you want to see?

Dress Like Disney #10 : Peter Pan, Tinkerbell & Wendy

Right.... this week's DLD is going to be slightly different!
This post took me about 5 hours and the next day it somehow got deleted from my scheduled posts - which can I just say was so so traumatic!
So unfortunately there will be no links with the pictures today like normal as it will take me hours and hours again trying to find everything - I'm so so sorry, hope you can all just enjoy them as pictures and if you are dying to know where something is from please just ask and I'll be able to tell you.

POTW #21 : TFIOS

Happy Friday my beautiful readers! Thank you for taking the time to come over to here - A Yellow Brick Blog.... I feel like I don't say thank you enough! And don't forget A Yellow Brick Vlog is up and running fully now - 5 videos up and having so much fun doing it!

Anyway that's enough thanking and plugging for one post - it is my Product Of The Week time once again - how on earth are we at #21 already, these weeks to seem to float by month after month after month, we are in July - the wrong side of the year!
Sorry you beauty lovers but this week I have a non-product product!

As you can probably tell by the title of this post - it is a book/movie - duh!
Yes it is the ever popular and totally emotional damaging The Fault In Our Stars.
I've had this on my kindle for god knows how many months and with the film coming out I just had to knuckle down and read it before I saw it.
In the end it took me less than 48 hours to read it - when I want too I can read alot and fast!

It was brilliant, laugh out loud funny and hysterically-crying sad all at the same time - and then 2 days later I went and saw the movie.
A fantastic construction of John Green's amazing words and ideas, it broke my heart all over again!
There were a couple of scenes which I think would have been really powerful acted out but unfortunately they seemed to have missed the cut which was a shame!

I urge you all to go and read the book/see the movie - I think the 2 friends I took to the cinema with me STILL have puffy eyes from all the emotions!
