Everyday Lip Shades To Add To Your Collection

Hello lovely people - before I jump into this post I just wanted to remind you all that my Instagram account has changed! Yes I have a totally new account so don't forget to give it a follow :) - @AlohaKirstie ..... now the promo is done - time to chat lippys!

I'm very much a creature of habit and even though I am the owner of countless lipsticks, glosses and liners I always have that collection of favourites that I am reaching for on a daily basis.

I love to see what products bloggers are reaching for again and again (I mean, we all try out so many it's always good to know what gets picked up time after time) so I thought why not share 6 of my go-to everyday lip shades with you guys.... because basically - you seriously need them all in your life!

You might think they look similar..... but they so aren't - I promise!

Featured :

MAC - Brave
This is a lipstick a bought.... purely down to a pinterest post! Yup, I spotted an image of this and the lip liner Soar and fell.in.love. This is the perfect subtle rosy pink, especially if you're not into thick heavy colour!

MAC - Velvet Teddy
I love this little beauty - a MAC essential which I think everyone needs to own! The perfect nude in my eyes, I don't think I've seen anyone it doesn't suit.... I even bought it for my Mum!

Lancome Juicy Tube - Caramel Gospel
This product is one that I randomly had for SO long before actually picking it up and trying it out! When I say this makes your lips look big and juicy... I'm not kidding! The shine is incredible and it's so smooth to apply, plus it smells amazeballs.

NYX Liquid Suede - Soft Spoken
Soft Spoken seems to have become my go-to for Festivals and nights out - I wore it at the Isle Of Wight Festival, V Festival and when out in Mallorca! It lasts SO long and the deep colour really is one of my favourites ever!

Sleek Matte Me - Birthday Suit
Bargain alert! This little beauty is only £4.99 - remind me to invest in some more shades - Sleek always have gorgeous original colours! (Their lipstick 'Mystic' is fabulous)

I did a full blog post on this product not too long ago (here) so you can read my opinion in full over there. Such a lovely shade, perfect for adding a bit of a pinky rose tone to your look - I feel like it's alot lighter on the lips than it looks on my arm though!

What are your favourite lip colours to rock daily?

Tanya Burr Soft Luxe Collection - Martha Moo Lipgloss

You may remember earlier this month I talked all about how I had made some new make-up purchases from Tanya Burr's range - her new collection was released AND it had some money off so I just couldn't say no to trying out something from one of YouTube's biggest names.

I previously talked about the eyeshadow quad - which for the price was a total bargain - now it's time to talk about the lip product  I decided to try!
After briefly looking on Tanya's blog to have a sneaky look at the new collection I thought Martha Moo looked right up my street and being a matt finish it was a no-brainer - I had to try this out!

Being a huge fan of nudes and brown shades right now this looked like the least pink out of the range and the name was cute so... I was sold.
When the gloss arrived I was a little surprised to see it was still a little pink not as brown/nude as I had remembered the swatch but - it looked gorgeous!
The pigmentation is fabulous, a really rich bold colour - but the perfect shade for everyday wear. It's subtle and natural.
The formula is smooth and creamy, no stickiness at all and it also dries really quickly which is great - I hate having to wait for a liquid lipstick to dry!
Stay time - I'll be honest isn't as great as others I've tried but for the small price tag of £5.99 it's great - it stays on and doesn't go patchy or crusty which is a pet hate of mine!
I've been using it with MAC's Soar lip liner underneath and they go perfectly - my favourite everyday duo of the moment... I even wore it to Thorpe Park the other day!

Rimmel Kate Moss Nude Lipstick - #45

Rimmel couldn't go and release a new lipstick collection without me running to Boots and grabbing one... obviously!

Yes, the Kate Moss collection has once again grown and this time it's delved into the realm of nudes. (Which I'm not surprised at in the slightest I mean ... it is the year of the nude right?!)

I decided to go for shade #45 - there were a couple of others in my local Boots but they both looked a bit too pale for me and I didn't want to just buy them for the sake of it - so I just stuck to the one!

I think we all know now what the formula to the Kate Moss lipsticks are by now! These are the regular long-lasting creamy lippys which are easy to apply and my personal drugstore favourite!

I really like this colour, I probably wouldn't go any lighter than this with a brown based nude as I'm not a fan of the foundation lips look!
I can tell already that this is going to get alot of wear over the next few months :)
Super quick post today..... please let me know if you have any requests for posts or videos - I feel like I've been boring recently and I really want to up my blogging and vlogging game!

Rimmel Lasting Finish Concealer Review

Hello there lovely ladies (and possible gents), welcome back to A Yellow Brick Blog - or HELLO if you've stumbled across my little blog for the first time!

Another make-up review today and I've got the newest of the new from Rimmel London!
The Lasting Finish collection has grown and grown, recently with the primer and now with a creamy concealer!
I never used to fuss about concealer but over the last few years, my bags have grown and concealing them has become a daily ritual for me. (Growing up sucks.... where's my damn youthful glow gone?)

For months and months now I've been using Seventeen's Phwoarr Paint and I love it - so when I saw another high coverage cream concealer being launched onto the highstreet shelves I leaped for joy - another thing for me to go buy and try.... oppsie, sorry bank!

This is a high coverage concealer, something I definitely need for my pesky bags, alot of other concealers just don't do the job for me and seem quite pointless!

There are 4 shades to choose from - I went for Ivory.
The product is thick and creamy and not only covers my bags and blends easily but feels light and breathable - not cakey at all - winner.
I'm really pleased I picked this up (even though I didn't technically need it in my life) , it's found it's way nicely into my everyday make-up routine and, for now, is helping to keep those horrible dark circles at bay!
Another great product from Rimmel!

What's your favourite concealer?

Rimmel Kate Moss Spring Lipstick Releases 2015 : 35,36,37

New highstreet make-up releases always get me excited and purse twitchy but what I love more than anything is new additions to an already adored collection!

I have been using Rimmel's Lasting Finish Kate Moss lipsticks for years and years now and own definitely more than a handful. (Number 20 was my everyday lipstick for the longest time and I still LOVE that shade!)
So seeing new shades being added to the range ready for spring made me jump for joy, my purse and then my camera!
Time to share these new beauties with you.......
The formula for these is my favourite kind of formula for lipsticks, nice and creamy with great pigmentation, you really don't need alot of this to build up the colour - one sweep and you're done!

I have to say these lipsticks probably coms a close second to my MAC babies, but at only a 1/3 of the price! (and there's always offers to make them even cheaper... e.g. 3 for 2!) Hands down the best drugstore lipsticks out there.

There were only these 3 new ones in my local Boots store but I know there are another 2 lurking out there, shades 34 and 38 have also been released - so keep your eyes peeled.
Left to right : 35 | 36 | 37

35
A pretty baby pink - perfect for everyday wear to work for me, I think I'm going to pair it with Barry M's bubblegum lipgloss.

36
This is like the lighter sister shade of #20 from the range. A gorgeous fuchsia pink (which is my favourite lip colour to rock), I can see me getting alot of wear out of this!

37
This has given me hope that summer is on the way soon....fingers crossed!
This shade is very, very similar to the matte KM lipstick in shade 110 - so if you love that colour but aren't keen on a matte finish then this is 100% the lipstick for you!

I wish this lipsticks had god damn names I hate them just being numbers.
These are available at both Boots & Superdrug and are priced at £5.49 each, but like I said keep yours eyes peeled for offers, right now they are on 3 for 2 in Boots!
What do you think? Any of these look like your sort of thing?

NEW Make-Up Revolution I ♥ Make-Up The Wow Stick Collection

An exciting post today! That's right I have whole NEW collection from the fabulous Make-up Revoution!
I've mentioned this brand a few times over the last few months, I've been so impressed with everything I've tried from them so far and these are no exception, so grab a cup of tea and settle down for a review.......
Lip crayons have slowly made there way into my most worn lip products over the past year or so. At first I didn't get the hype around them but after buying product after product I have fallen hook, line and sinker for them!
So of course this collection seemed right up my make-up obsessed street.
Make-Up Revolution Super Wow Colour Stick Collection*
With a range of colours this 8 piece collection has a shade for everyone. From a pretty nude to summer brights and autumn darks, I am loving them!

Plus look how cute all the names are, I mean Sunday Girl - that's got to be a blogger dedication right?
I love products that have pretty names, lip shades that are just numbers are so boring (Barry M take note please), I want the job of choosing names for shades!!
Now for a bit of a negative point.... the packaging isn't great and I say this for mainly just one reason. All the tubes look exactly the same when they are out of their boxes.
There is no form of identification on the individual crayons so once out the box you literally have no idea what shade it is! The boxes are cute and I like that the they are the shades of the product but it's hard to match them back together again once you've taken them out, and to be honest I normally don't keep the boxes!
Thank you to my dog for walking past and leaving a hair behind - photo ruiner!
As you can see the range of colours is fab, I am loving Atomic - definitely going to be a holiday shade for me and Maria is the perfect Autumn/Winter colour.
These are matte crayons which I find are great for a long lasting effect, they have amazing pigmentation and gives you a bold colour for hours.
Left to Right :

Another fabulous range of lip crayons and at only £2.99 each these are a total steal! They are easy to apply and the colour really does last! I am proper chuffed with these, a big high five and thank you coming your way MUR!

No7 Instant Radiance Bronzing Highlighter Review

I am like a magpie when it comes to highlighters and products that aim to give your skin a pretty glow and shimmer!
I had seen these online and thought they looked pretty but when I finally saw them in 'real life' I couln't resist picking one up!
There were a few too choose from at the no7 stand but I went for the bronzing highlighter, just because I have a lot of pinky shaded highlighters already so I thought this would be a good product to ad to my collection of goodies!

The instant radiance highlighter comes in a cute little bullet with a twist bottom (so this should last me a while!)
I love that this is a stick, it's so easy to sweep on and is such a handy little size to add to my make-up bag.
I have been putting this on my cheeks bones, brow bones and down the centre of my nose (in the hope of making it look slightly smaller) it is really light and creamy which makes it easy to blend in!
It has a lovely pigmentation which makes it easy to get a gorgeous dewy, fresh effect without using alot of product.
Another holy grail highlighter for me to rant and rave about....ahhh it's so pretty I definitely need to buy the other versions now - I can never just stick to one can I?
This highlighter is priced at £9.95 but I bought it with a No7 voucher (£3 off!) and they do these offers alot so keeps your eyes out for those!

Maybelline NEW Baby Lips Electro - Pink Shock Review

Oppsie ... I've bought another lip product! It's not my fault okay it's a very sad addiction!
I've been looking forward to this new range coming out for a while now so when I saw it in Boots of course I bought it.... like the sucker I am!
Yes it is the brand spanking (to the UK) new Baby Lips from Maybelline.
Now I've only picked up 1 so far but for only £2.99 it probably won't be long until I cave in and buy some more!
Now these are so much more up my street than the original collection - I love a bit of colour so anything bright and funky I'm going to love!
The Electro collection consists of 4 different shades. This one 'pink shock' instantly caught my attention (Although I seriouly want to get my hands on Berry Bomb but it wasn't in store ... sad face!)

A lip balm that gives you up to 8 hours of hydration and a fabulous flash of neon! Perfect for summer and hot days where minimal make-up is key!
I definiley think the colour develops more the longer it is on aswell! It's been fab to have in my work bag, replacing my lip butters and vaseline tins!
Another product under £3 which has secured itself in my daily routine for the summer! Have any of you tried these out yet?

Time Bomb Cosmetics : Holiday In A Bottle Review

Has anyone seen the sun lately? Nope - me either!
This winter has sucked and summer cannot come quick enough! At the moment it's still more rain, wind and hail than any form of vitamin D so what could we all need more than a bit of a holiday in a bottle.
Which is exactly what this stuff is - Time Bomb Cosmetics : Holiday In A Bottle.
I'm sure I'm not the only person who feels a bit pants when pale. I've said it before but having a bit of colour and a glow has so many benefits - the biggest being looking healthier (for me anyway!)
With the weather we've been having the last few months I'm as white as a sheet and hating every minute of it - I could really do with any form of tan!
This is where Time Bomb Cosmetics comes in!
This stuff isn't a fake tan or a stain - just a gorgeous liquid sunshine type product! A product to put on under your foundation (well that's when I've been putting it on anyway!), this stuff is a gorgeous instant complexion boost and that quick hit of sunshine we've all been dying for!
If you've read my blog before you know I'm all for a shimmer and a glow and this stuff really does the job!
Holiday in a bottle comes in two shades and the one I have been using is in the shade 'Sunkissed'.
The only ever product I have used that is similar to this stuff is Soap & Glory's Glow Job and that was a long, long time ago and I have to say I do prefer this version from Time Bomb.

When pumped out this product comes out a grey, silver-type colour - a bit like a highlighter. But as soon as you start to mix and blend the product the micro-pigments start to burst and it immediately turns into the glowing tan shade you imagine which helps enhance your natural complexion.

This stuff does need to be blended well especially into the neck and I've found it best to do it just with your hands, no make-up accessories needed.
Just one pump spread around the face seems to be enough for me - a little goes a long way. That is one of the features I really like - the pump action. I hate product that you have to try and judge yourself so the pump makes it alot easier to ration out this stuff (especially with the £28 price tag)
This is great for all skin tones and gives a great subtle glowing base to start your make-up for the day with - or you could even just wear it on it's own!

This is the first product I have tried from Time Bomb Cosmetics and I've been really impressed I really want to try out more of their range - they have sooo many products from skincare to haircare to jewellery!
